About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

nice lay out with small greens
only 12th fairway was a bit rough in the landing area rest of the fairways in great shape greens were all excellent conditions. wish they had a senior rate
Small greens, good course
Mattawang is a rather simple golf course layout with small greens that roll true. Be prepared to chip a lot as the greens are hard to hold on approach shots due to the size and firmness. Overall, a good course in the area that usually has plenty of tee times available. Much rather play here than Royce Brook but probably a step below Spooky Brook.
Excellent conditions and friendly staff
Fairways and greens are in excellent condition; no divot marks to be found. Course is well maintained. I only wish they offer more single tee times through GolfNow.
Reserved through Teeoff.com. Paid for gas carts for 4 golfers but when we arrived, they ask for cart fee of $80($20x4). Showed them teeoff.com receipt but they said Teeoff.com makes mistakes all the time regarding cart fees. I had to pay additional $80.
If this is the case, I think that they should straighten it out with Teeoff.com.
Not what I exppected
Been playing here for a few years and the course is always in great shape. If something isn't done soon, I won't be the only one not coming back. Too many bare spots in the fairways, and some greens were in bad shape too. Someone needs to be fired!
Good Experience
This course is better than most public courses however, it could use some care to the greens and Fairways
Slow
Course just average..booked through Golfnow which is a walking rate..need to pay extra for gas carts. Got a good rate with promo codes..probably not worth paying more than $40
Fairways and bunkers need work, greens are small and bit slow. Decent layout with good mixture of short and long holes with some blind shots. Pace of play was slow..4hr 40min round.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. It is very possible that the 40 mph winds added to the pace of play the day of your round!
During March all golf clubs are cleaning up from Winter damage and winter course improvements. We are doing the same, I would suggest coming back in a month when conditions really should be improved!
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
This round was a Hot Deal. All Hot Deal rounds from November 15-May 1 were Walking Only which was in your confirmation. It says at least three times you are booking a time not controlled by the course and the time is Walking Only. Our policy is very straight with TeeOff. It appears the communication between player and TeeOff needs more work.
