About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

I have played here several times. The course is usually in very good condition. This time, though, there were more than a few brown spots on the fairways and greens. Overall, it was still very playable, and I enjoyed the round.
Great for a Public Course
Staff were very professional. Started asked if this was first time playing this course. Proceeded to give me advice on the course layout and what to expect on certain holes. Driving range could use a little work.
Course was ok
Wide open for most holes. Layout was alright. Greens and fairways were very poor on the back 9. Half the greens were no grass. Bring a cooler with you the place has absolutely no water jugs or a cart girl.
Disappointed
Didn’t see any staff members (mobile check-in); no starter, so group of 3 jumped right in front of us. 1 of the 3 looked like 1st time golfer (significantly slowed play); no drinking water on course; 4 greens were aerated, 2 were unplayable (so much sand, there were foot prints, like in a bunker); round ended @ 4:00 and clubhouse door was locked- couldn’t use the bathroom or get some water/drink. Will probably be some time before thinking of going back and will not recommend the course- very disappointed.
Standard golf course
Average course.
Track was dry (shots were running long) but still in decent shape....greens were good, challenging rough, decent tee boxes. A few holes are surrounded by bunkers. Water doesn't come into play, 1 hole has pond in front, 2 others have wet lands to avoid on approach shots.
Carts do not have GPS (just a heads up for other golfers). No cart girl. Proshop had hot dogs, chips and some other snacks for sale, as well as drinks but no alcohol. There is a driving range to warm up on.
Course layout.
Maintenance on this course is relatively good.
Green condition is good too
However course layout is so simple and short, no challenging and no exciting course to consider 4 star.
Simple, short and no challenge.....You should come out when we run our local events for Pro's and high level amateurs.
12:51 Tee Time
Course was in great condition, except the greens were glacial. 15 ft down hill and you had to hit it 20+ to hope you got it there. Pace was okay, there was a 4some that split into 2 twosomes on the back slowing down the pace for everyone. In total took about 4:10 to play. Only major complaints were the range mats slid with any movement, and there was only one hot dog available at the turn (3pm on a weekend) will definitely be back.

Friday round
Had a great round today. First out and finished in 3.5 hrs even pace. Greens were in great shape and the rest of the course is great shape. Fun time had by all.
