About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

first time there in 20 years.
Nice people, fair prices and we were all but alone on the course as of 4PM. the front nine is much easier to score. The back is much more difficult and the course is LONG 6500 yds from the whites. be aware of that if you play there. lots of nature around and well maintained. We will be back. The length of the course may be the reason there were only 7 cars in the lot when we arrived.
A nice place to play . A hidden gem but long par 4 holes 388, 407, 437,426, 400,390,

Mattawang Desperately Needs Water
Mother nature’s lack of rain has played shear havoc with this golf course. Although the greens are just fine, right now, you will be playing on quite a bit of Bermuda hay instead of the course’s normally well kept fairways. The $58 fee with cart per player, even on a Friday afternoon, is just way too much to be charging to play this course right now. As far as off course amenities are concerned, it would also be nice if they would get their coffee machine back in service for us morning golfers. I’ve been to this course about 6 times in the past 4 months, and every time the pro shop employees have to break the same bad news.
Much of this review differs from others opinions playing recently and the very same day. The coffee service was running for the morning golfers,. Your tee time was 1:27 and your request was to get coffee for the back nine at 3:30 PM.

Course had very dry conditions due to lack of rain, but fairways and greens were in good shape. Greens small and fast. Quiet setting.

The greens were in excellent condition. The fairways were also in very good condition.

Great afternoon of golfing
Cloudy, breezy 330pm tee and nobody in front of us..I'm glad the Hot Deal brought us out. The only issue was the lack of rain that dried up the rough. But considering my game, that only made the day even better. Tees, fairways, 1st cut and greens are just fine.

course getting better, still needs some work
greens are running true. fairways have some issues with bald/dead spots. grounds crew was working on filling in the tee boxes. traps still could use more sand.
