About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Decent Condition But Staff Not Friendly
The course was in fairly good conditions, fairways and greens in particular. But the tee boxes were often irregularly sloped with above average divots making it very difficult to find a spot to comfortably tee it up.
We pre-paid for 4 players but my 86 year dad did not feel well in the morning so did not make it. The woman working inside was not sympathetic at all and would not even consider giving me a rain check for 1 player. She claimed the slot could have been purchased by someone else but it's not very likely someone would have done that between 11pm and 8am the following morning.
Sorry your expectations were not reached.

Played this course several times. Fee is a bit on the high side in my opinion. Almost always a tee time available. That has to tell you something.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, however, it seems odd to play a course several times with that mindset.
Great conditions, fun round!
Course is in great shape, especially the greens. They were medium speed and super smooth; putts rolled very true. I really like the layout of this course and the small greens. Fairways are in great shape. Bunkers were recently filled with new sand. Back 9 is tougher than the front, especially the last 4 holes known as the green mile. We had a 7:48 tee time and played in 4 hrs. Pace of play does seem to get worse after 830 a.m. and 5 hour rounds are not uncommon. I think they could improve enforcing pace of play, but was not an issue with the early tee time. It is usually easy to book a tee time here and the greens fees are very reasonable especially accounting for the excellent course condition.
Mattawang never disappoints!!! Looking forward to many more rounds there this season

Good course.
Good course. No frills clubhouse. Good pace of play. Conditions are pretty good except some rough patches in fairways. Green in good shape.

Great course
Always love playing this course and is good shape. Bunkers need a little work. Pace of play was good for a holiday at under 4:15 on a crowded day.

Always in great shape
I play Mattawang frequently. Winter and summer this course is in great shape!! The fairways are smooth and in good shape and the greens always run true. There are few better value courses around.

Late Spring Saturday round
My wife and I and our other golf couple played the course for the first time; we walked, they rode; we enjoyed the round; but for a few fairway bare spots, course was in nice shape; greens were nice; byob; no concession. We’d play it again
