About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Nice day to play.
The course was in great condition. The green were in great shape just dry, hard and fast. You needed to flop the shot on or just be short and bounce onto the green.

I understand your thoughts on the food at the turn but the amount of people who were eating on a regular basis was very limited. That along with nationwide Food and Beverage staffing issues have made it impossible to continue, at least for now.

Excellent Golf Day
Staff is always friendly and accommodating. Course was in very all around good condition. Pace of play was excellent, especially for a Friday. afternoon. Highly recommend this course to the intermediate players.

Pros
Greens were firm and elevated. Made it a good challenge.
6500 yards. Good distance.

Cons
No restaurant or bar
Allowed walkers on Sunday morning. Slowed play.
Thought it was slightly overpriced
Live 45 minutes away. Would not make the trip for this course but fine if you’re local.
We appreciate your time and thoughts, however we have found that allowing walkers on weekends actually speeds up play. Through many years of timing the same golfers, walkers play 16 minutes faster then riders. This also saves the price sensitive golfers some money.

Great course for your money.
Enjoyed a beautiful round of golf last Friday. The course was not busy at all for a sunny day. Greens were in great shape and the course layout was challenging.

We have played here about 8 times now. Always in good shape, bunkers always have real sand, not mud or hard-pan like some other places we play. Glad we found this course.
