About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

A fun course
Not the hardest track but fun. Perfect course to take your father-in-law out on where if you’re not great you won’t be looking for lost balls all the time and you won’t end up hating each other after the round. Fun, pleasant golf.

Open layout perfect greens
Great open layout with tees for every level. Great for players looking to shoot low or simply find their ball. Immaculate greens. Unfortunately not the best kept secret but pace of play was okay especially for a beautiful weekend day.

TT Prices not as advertised
Booked reservation through Golf Now, hot deals which included a cart, however upon checking in at course was told that rate did not include cart and if I wanted a cart I had to pay an additional $20 which when I disputed was met with extreme rudeness by sales clerk who told me play or go home. Apparently this is the courses new policy but they have not communicated to Golf Now to correct which obviously creates customer ill will. Have played course for 20 years, love the course, first time I’ve ever encountered this kind of service(or lack there of)

Hot Deals are the property of Golf Now and NOT Mattawang GC. If the owner of the tee time did not include the cart your dispute is with them and their lack of accurate information or inability to communicate.

We have enjoyed! But one problem. When we reported to the clubhouse office, one man manager asked us to pay $20.00 / per person for the cart fee. We told that we paid to GolfNow (TeeOff) when we made reservation and showed our Confirmation email text which doesn't say anything about our green fee or cart fee paid. Fortunately a lady manager who recognized us said, "OK! Please go and play!" We did. A advice that the Confirmation email should indicate the cart fee paid. Thank you.

Always a fun time playing this track. Planning on breaking 80 within the next two or three visits.

Very disappointing
Charged $50 plus 20 per golfer for cart. This course never charged each golfer for cart. Very rude female staff worker in Pro Shop. WILL NEVER PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN
Just to clarify, we have charged individually or each golfer for the cart for the past 27 seasons without exception. This is done so each golfer pays the same for their day, otherwise a threesome playing would mean that the odd or third golfer would be stuck paying for a full cart.

Typical Mattawang
I have played there multiple times, mostly because you can get tee times on short notice. Its an average course, design and conditions typical to a little better than a Muni. Its still early in the year so things are growing in. There are a few interesting holes on the course, and the back 9 is longer and I find harder in design than the front. The greens are on the small side for most holes, and some have some tricky slopes. Decent enough course to play and reasonable for the money. Royce Brook, 5 minutes away, is way better, but also $99 on weekends, so there go, your call.

Top Dressing Greens with.....?
Have played and enjoyed this course before and did again on 4/10. Although I realize there are certain things that need to be done to keep the course in the good shape that it is, could there be an alternative to the absolutely horrendous smelling "fertilizer" applied to the greens early Saturday morning? Could it have been done on a different day, perhaps mid-week - a non-peak day? The smell of manure was overwhelming and coated the golf balls on every green with every putt. Yes, we're in the midst of a pandemic, but having water in the ball cleaners would've been welcomed.
Sorry to see your disappointment with the fertilizer that was put down last Saturday early am. The longer then normal morning dew caused the issue.
Our normal ball washers have not been out since Covid restrictions were put in place last May. There are a couple older models that are part of signage that should have a bag over them and will now so everyone knows not to use them.

Course was in good shape, tee boxes much improved from last season. Fair but challenging layout, a couple of long par 3’s 190 +.
