About
Mattawang Golf Club has changed very little since it first opened in 1960. The traditional layout has withstood the test of time as a challenging but playable layout. The course was designed to blend seamlessly into the natural setting while still testing your shot-making skills. You won’t find any man-made water hazards or artificial mounding on this golf course, instead you’ll be challenged by natural streams and ponds and mature evergreens. At first glance, the layout is seemingly wide open, but don’t let your guard down because the fairways are actually quite tight and many of them are strategically lined with trees. In keeping with the time it was built, the greens are smaller than those you would find on most modern golf courses and heavily protected by sand traps. Over the years, Mattawang Golf Club has built a reputation for having some of the well maintained putting surfaces in the area.

Solid Course for the Buck
Course was in great shape- fairways were tight, greens rolled nice, and tee boxes were in good shape as well. For the $$, it would be hard to find a better course. Would definitely come back again!

A Hidden Gem
I recommend this course. Walked the course and finished my 18 hole round in just under 4 hours. It was a fun course to play. The driving range, tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in good shape.

Decent course for the price
The course conditions were good. They especially take care of their greens which makes all the difference.

Nice Sunday
Had first tee time on Sunday 922. The course was in great shape. Greens were true and fast. Pin placement was nice.
Had a great time, finished in 3.5 hrs.
Very good condition, but…
First time playing and the conditions were very good. This place knows how to grow grass for sure. Weird that there was no beverage cart, and really bad there was not a single water cooler…zero. Nowhere to get water anywhere on the course, and the 9th green is not really close to the pro shop to take a quick break.
Bring your own cooler and beverages.
We are glad to see you enjoyed conditions. We have tried Beverage Cart service for many years and without a Liquor License it has never been successful.

Getting too pricey for an "OK" public course.
I guess Vera needs a new $15,000 handbag, for those of you who are uninitiated, Vera Wang, of all people, owns this course. Hence the name.
Price continues to increase for a good, not great, public course. $84.00 for an early morning round is insane and in just two-three weeks the regular round has gone from $72.00 to $79.00. WHY. A premium should be paid during summer, demand, months and get progressively less expensive as the season winds down.
Nice day overall if you're playing with friends or your kids but otherwise there are dozens of very fine public courses within 20 or so miles in any direction at considerably less expense.
Will I be back, yes, because the pace of play is unmatched at any course I have played in the last 40 years but I will not be happy paying $80, $85, soon to be $90+ a round.
