Mays Landing Golf Club
About
Former president of the PGA of America, Leo Fraser, designed the 18-hole public course at the Mays Landing Golf Club with both advanced and beginning golfers in mind. Touted as the "best birdie for the buck," the Mays Landing golf course provides a great value for all golfers. The course was meticulously designed over 175 acres of beautiful pineland with scenic tree-lined fairways.
Mays Landing Golf Club provides an experience similar to one at a private country club with its excellent service and amenities including a pro shop, restaurant, and PGA instructors on site. On hot days they even have cool towels for you and they always have roaming beverage carts. The course is 6,633 yards at the longest tees, playing to a par of 72.

Great Experience
We played this course on a beautiful day in June for the first time. Our experience from beginning to end was great. From the moment we dropped off our bags the staff was incredible. From the friendly young lady who set us up in our cart, to the smiling young lady who checked us in, to the very helpful gentleman who was the starter, to the friendly ranger, to the very accommodating young man who took care of us when we finished our round. There was not one moment we felt at all uncomfortable playing an unfamiliar course. The course layout was very nice. It had a good assortment of challenges, but nothing that would frustrate you that you would not want to play it again. On the contrary, it was just challenging enough to make you want to go back again to try and conquer. The course conditions were wonderful, especially the greens. I actually stood on one and felt like I was standing on a very fine carpet. Because of our experience, we are planning a return trip, and look forward to another enjoyable day.
Nice challenge for 90s-shooter
Very pleasantly surprised with this nicely manicured course. It offered a good challenge to a "social" golfer such as myself who shoots in the low/mid 90s at decent courses. Staff was outstanding and friendly. Ample putting greens for practice, and petite driving range to boot. Very satisfied w/ overall feel.
Excellent First experience
First time playing this course, I played alone on a Wednesday. Fortunatly, a group of 4 let me play thru, and finished 18 around 3 hours. Course conditions were good, and I'll for sure be back.
Good Value for the money. Very friendly staff.
Not the longest or hardest course you will ever play, but in excellent shape and great value for a moderate price.
Crowd was light the day I played, but the rangers kept up the pace of play and were helpful. The course has a terrific cart manager, an older gentleman but the name of Mickey [I think]. He was a big help with advice on a first timer on the course and even led me to the back nine tee box, which is quite a distance from the clubhouse. If the rest of the staff is as good, I would definitely pro shop and 19th hole a shot.
This course is definitely worth a try.
starter not friendly
I had a 12:20 tee time & arrived in plenty of time to start but the starter did not send me out for approximately 30 min after my tee time. I was a single but the other 2 that had 12:20 asked to play by themselves? So the starter sent them out alone, then sent me out as a twosome 15 min later then sent out another twosome after us? By the time we hit the 7 th hole everything was backed up. this is the 2 nd time that i have had this experience at this course.
Best deal in South Jersey...always love playing here
new layout
The nines were switched and some of the holes have been changed but it was a pleasant day. Front greens were recently punched but the back was in good shape and rolled nice. Good layout and would recommend
Overbooked!
Usually a good experience but this time was way overbooked with a Saturday outing scheduled! Took almost 3 hours to play 10 holes and that was enough for me.
Greens were plugged, only nine holes open, had to play the same nine twice.
Plugged greens are an issue on all courses in the spring and fall. It would be nice if the courses were required to make note on GolfNow when they had been plugged. Golfers could then take this into consideration before booking a tee time.
The show lived up to what I expected.
Played with a couple of members who were great. Sometime too polite.
Great greens. Well maintained. Workers are always active. Great cigar selection. Hotash cigars.
A solid 3 1/2stars
I like playing new tracks. So when my group fell apart last Sunday, I found a good deal on golfnow to play mays landing country club as a single. As I arrived, a young lady came to my car, asked what time I was to tee off and directed me to the golf shop. I went in and showed them my paperwork. As I have herd before, some places give us golfnow players a little attitude when we come to play. I kinda felt that way. I asked how much a bucket of range balls cost because I had traveled over an hour, and was hastily told $6. Got my bucket, headed to the range. They had an outside snack bar area at the first tee. Unfortunately no one was working it. It was Easter sunday, but I certenly thought they should of been able to get someone to man it. I hit my warm up shots, putted a little and headed to the first tee. No starter, so I headed out alone. I caught up to a twosome on the third hole and a twosome caught up to me about the ninth hole. But the pace stayed good. I never pushed the people in front of me to let me play thru, and we did finish in just under 4 hrs.
The course was in ok shape. Fairways and greens were good. Tho I think the greens needed to be rolled, they were a bit bumpy. It was the fringe areas that needed work. Bunkers and rough. All not in good shape. The course was o nice layout. I liked the par 3s. Especially the 6th. It was playing 190 yards and the green was a raised postage stamp of a green. Pretty cool.
I would recommend this course. Nice layout, no gimme par 3s, and a lot of tree lined fairways. I'd like to go back later in the season to play it in peak condishion with the trees grown in and hopefully the rough and bunkers will be in better shape. It's a solid 3 1/2 stars. Can't give it 4 stars because of the bit of an attitude I got in the pro shop and, as I said, the fringe areas on the course. But a nice course worth checking out for the right price.
fast round; course in great shape!
Weather was perfect, so decided to play last minute, and got an early afternoon tee time. Course was in excellent shape for early April. No issues with any aeration on tees or greens. I think the course played a little easier considering it was early in the season, and some of the waste areas haven't had time to grow in (no complaints here). We got to the course early, and were able to go out as a twosome before our scheduled time, and the pace of play was super fast. Never had to wait, and there was no one pushing us, and we still got through the round in less than 4 hours. Staff was beyond pleasant, from the starter, to the waitress at the turn, to the crew that cleaned our clubs as we finished. Great day of golf - we will be back.
