Golden Pheasant Golf Club

I prepaid for my tee time and when I showed up the clubhouse charged me $20 because I allegedly only reserved a walking time when it golf now clearly shows the cart is included. I purchased a sleeve of balls as well as charged $29 extra.

I arrived at Golden Pheasant Golf Club on 4/5 immediately to be told that they scheduled my tee time incorrectly. I scheduled online 4 days prior as I am very organized, so I do my best to plan and stay prepared. I soon found out that there was a youth golf tournament taking up the first 4 holes just as I arrived. I bet you can guess what happened next...

By time I got out, said tournament had graduated to one more hole...I skipped holes 1-5 and began on hole 6. There was no communication or information posted about a youth golf tournament on 4/5 at this club. Myself and the rest of the golfers were very upset that there were no signs or forewarning whatsoever about a tournament. I paid for 18 but played 12. I'm not angry, I'm disappointed.

It was just an overall messy and sloppy experience –– If a random, chilly, overcast day in early April is this disorganized at Golden Pheasant, I can only imagine what a nice summer day is like there. Unfortunately, myself, my family, and my associates will not play here again.

The positives:

- The carts were electric and did not die.

-The cart paths are asphalt.

I left a review a few days ago on this course, I forgot to include that I was charged for the cart even though it was stated in the booking “cart included” when I brought this up to the pro shop they responded with “well we have to charge you for the cart anyways”

Course was in great condition considering time of year and heavy rain overnight. Greens were great and rolling true fairways and tee boxes in good shape. Looking forward to returning soon in season. Keep up the great work!

Greens were generally in great shape and most were rolling nicely. Tee boxes in good shape.

We got off the tee at 9:10 and finished 18 at 12:30.

That gave us extra time to have a relaxing lunch & drinks at the friendly upstairs spot.

Pins were set for a Saturday Super intendant revenge tournament and they must’ve left all the pins in the same place because it was ridiculous.

Sunday placements at the masters??

Course was in nice shape with all the lack of rain and the water use state requirements.

Ground was hard and greens were fast.

Hole placement was tough on a Sunday.

Tee off was on time 12:15 and we finished as it got dark about 4:30 for last putt.

Sundays are supposed to be fun. Shouldn’t we have pin placements that are that tough. Two of the guys in our foursome are newer golfers, and placements like that will drive them away from the game.

Very well kept course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are perfect, even for this time of year (October). Bunkers need some sand, they are basically dirt holes. This course is very hilly with a lot of terrain changes. I would recommend taking a cart. Many blind shots, including tees shots and approach shots. Not a long course but many doglegs and blind shots. Would recommend and will play again
