Bowling Green Golf Club
About
Bowling Green Golf Club is in the heart of northern New Jersey, surrounded by miles of idyllic countryside. An abundance of mature oaks and towering red pines characterizes the scenic course. This quick, shady layout is a great round for walkers. The golf course has a classic links design that is easily played in less than four hours. Like most traditional links courses, the gently undulating terrain has the perfect pitch and roll. It also provides each hole with unique challenges that require accuracy and strategy. Trees heavily line the fairways, presenting some of the course's most formidable challenges. Bowling Green Golf Club's front nine is slightly more forgiving than the back nine, which incorporates the natural ponds and wetlands on a few holes. There are also some tricky doglegs to contend with.

great course
Course was very wet balls were plugging in the fairway. Otherwise it was a good day
Fallen leave cover all couses
The weather was so good, but course condition ruined a day.
I am conplaining person but this is the worst experience of rounding. The fallen leaves are piled up everywhere Not only on the practice green but also on the fairway, rough, and green. Even I sent the ball on the fairway, I could not find the ball due to the reflection of fallen leaves.
If they don't want to clean it, the green fee should be less than normal nice golf course.
Great course
A few holes look like they were forced into the layout. (#4 for example) But it was a great day, great staff. Great course.
Need Less Leaves and More Accommodating Staff
Played with minor frost delay, but starter Kevin was friendly and informative. Thank you. Although I understand this is the Fall and leaves will fall...course needs to stay on top of this and get them up and off the fairways and fringe ASAP...preferably before people start playing. The other issue we found was that w/pandemic upon us all there is only one person allowed in restroom at a time...ok, but if a guy has to relieve himself and wants to use the ladies room, and there is no ladies around, then he should be allowed to use the ladies restroom.. There is a knock first policy anyway since only one person is allowed in either restroom, so no one will be interrupted or surprised...and the door locks from the inside as well.. I have to go and now you tell me
“No!” Regardless of all the things I have just mentioned. Don’t be such a db. What if I said that although I look like a man, I identify as a woman? What would you do then? Wake up and stop being a controlling db. And get those leaves up in a timely manner.
Fantastic course. Definitely a must-play!
Not your typical Geoff Cornish course! Lots of doglegs and multi-tier greens. Unless you can play both draws and fades comfortably off the tee, you might find yourself hitting lots of three woods or long irons. Even from the Cornish (black) tees.
Some absolutely spectacular views and cart paths over marshland had me pulling out the camera on more than one occasion.
Greens were in terrific shape. But, I did have an issue with their rolling consistency. On several holes our entire foursome was incredibly shocked by the variance in speed from previous holes.
Tee boxes were in GREAT shape.
As we played in the time of covid-19, the course allowed us to all take separate carts for no additional fee. Each was prepped with its own take as well!
No issues with pace of play! It was just over four hours and we took our sweet time.
Worth it!!
Nice course
Lots of leaves but expected this time of year. Nice true rolling greens. Nice layout. Worth a 90 minute ride
Wonderful course !!
I went there last sunday. It was smoggy day, so , nobody with us In first nine holes.
We can play very comfortable. Field condition was best and people were nice and gentle.
I’ll go back the golf course again soon.
Nomap
I can't understand why they got such favorable reviews there was absolutely no map of the course not even.on scorecard, the leaves we're not blown anywhere on the course. which made the play slow down and lose a lot of balls
Fun course to play
We really enjoyed this course. Large greens very accessible but challenging. Would play this course regularly except it's an about 2 hours from my home. Too much of a trip to do so. Highly recommend. Leaves just beginning to change...will be spectacular once fully into the season.
