About
Spooky Brook Golf Course in Somerset is a player-friendly course that is perfect for beginners. It offers just enough of a challenge but it still allows you some room for error. At 6,655 yards from the back tees, the golf course is relatively short but the greens, tees, and fairways offer plenty of room. The mostly flat terrain makes for an enjoyable walk and it's also wide open. While the golf course may not be the most formidable test, it does have a few challenges in store. Water has a presence throughout the course, especially on the back nine. Whether or not you are looking to hone your skills or if you want a casual round, the well maintained golf course appeals to any skill level. In addition to the course, Spooky Brook G.C. also has a driving range that you can use to warm-up.

Spooky Brook greens keeps course competitive
Greens large with plenty of slope. If putt well you can score on this course. Over played course!
Wide open layout, solid value
Spooky Brook, while certainly not a challenging course due to the layout, was enjoyable to play. The course is wide open and forgiving off the tee, and the course itself is in really great shape. We had a bad downpour the day before, so some of the bunkers were holding a decent amount of water, but that was the only real issue. All in all, really good bang for your buck with the hot deal pricing. Will be back to play again.
Grip it n' rip it.
Excellent course, wide-open fairways.
Great place to work out the kinks with your driver. Greens were nice and the rough manageable. Friendly staff.
Unusual Round of Golf
I had booked the tee time through Golf Now. I got there almost an hour early and had time to talk to the starter. There was no one on the first tee, and no golfers in sight, so the Starter told me I could wait for the rest of my group (I was a single) or just go off.
I went by myself and enjoyed the course. I caught someone practicing on the 17th green, but that was it for humanity. A very pleasant, unstressful day of leisurely golf. And the staff could not have been nicer. Course was in above average condition considering the heat we have had.
Wide Open Spaces!!!
We loved the course...1st time playing there and we will be back whenever we are in NJ!! Staff was great, the grounds were trimmed and neat. Loved the fairways, wide open...greens were slow, but in great shape! Overall, great course!!!
Great Conditions!
I was very impressed with the conditions of the course. Greens, fairways, traps and tee boxes were all very well kept. The staff were all very friendly. I appreciated the stocked coolers with water out on the course on such a hot day. The course does play easy as it is pretty wide open but overall a great experience.
Straight and easy.
If you like a challenge, this course is not for you. Straight as an arrow with few hazard placements one would consider challenging. Clean fairways. Nice stroll. No stress.
Fun, forgiving golf course.
A great layout with just enough challenging holes. The staff was very friendly The starter was most helpful and a gentlemen who enjoys his job. Spooky Brook is on a beautiful piece of property. Great value for a good course.
no starter no ranger
there was a foursome two holes ahead more interested in ball finding then playing, they were never ready and made the pace of play agonizing.
The surprise cart rental was something I never encountered when using the online booking site. Will have to pay better attention when booking this year.(beware)
Great course
Course is in great shape for march. Friendly staff. No snack bar.
Good for time of year, although beware
Two of my golf colleagues and myself had purchased the tee time during the warm up in order to get an early season round in to break the winter blues. For the time of year the course was in good shape. Not a lot of muddy spots and to our surprise the sand traps were well groomed and not hard. When we arrived we were unable to bring the gas cart to the parking lot and had to carry our bags to the back of the clubhouse to cart them. When we went to check in for our 12:40 tee time we were advised that we had to pay $17 each extra to ride and when we asked why we were told that an email had been sent out stating that we had only paid for the waking rate. We had not bought drink prior to going to the course bc we wanted to give the course money bc we had bought from GN. We were advised that they only had off brand water and only took cash due to the vending machines being changed out. Being that we did not come prepared to walk we paid the $17 each to ride. The course was is good shape for the early season and it was nice to get out and dust off the club but not at $46/pp for early season. After our round one of my golf partners attempted to use the restroom and the clubhouse was locked at 4:45 pm. Overall the course was ok but not for the price paid and the 2 hour drive to get there just to end up paying full price. Be sure to read all print before buying and if you want something other than water.
WInter Play
The course was in excellent condition for the time of year. Greens were challenging but putted consistently. Staff was friendly and responsive to questions. Practice area is adequate. The practice green was especially nice.
