A fun place to play
This was my first visit. I usually play from the whites, and this course is 5,375 yards, a bit less than the typical 6,000 yards. A lot of water and shrubs make up for the yardage, There are a few really fun holes where you can cut a corner off a dog-leg. We played in only 3 1/2 hours, which was wonderful. It was one of the few recent times where I felt completely relaxed in new surroundings, I had an excellent game, too. I will definitely play Deep Creek again.
Greens?
Love this course, except. There is always an except. The only negative thing is the greens. Lotta work has got to be done on them. Bumpy because of a LOT of bare spots. And that is the only reason I gave it 1 star for the value.
A Challenge!
The course was in great shape but I found it very challenging since I tend to hook the ball and found the course very narrow - therefore I got into a lot of trouble. If you hit the ball straight down the fairway as my wife does it is just fine
Obtain a course guide before first play
Pace of play has improved some since last we played. Still some work to do. Course was in fairly nice shape for the end of the season with the exception of the greens that were beat up. Players do not seem to take time to repair ball marks.
Average course, weird layout
Just an average course. Greens small with a lot of grain. Value was OK but nothing special.
challenging course
Good condition it will test your shot making good golfers to play with very good day excelent value.
Good experience
Fairways were in excellent shape. Greens had a few dead spots . Enjoyed
Really nice experience
This is a lovely, interesting course. Deep Creek is an apt name for it. Lots of water. But it too difficult. We had a great time & enjoyed the smooth pace of play.
Not too long, but challenging
The personnel at Deep Creek are exceptional. Mark (carts), counter personnel, bar and grill -- all very friendly and helpful.
Course is always full -- can be frustrating, but the marshals do a decent job of moving people along.
Course has 3-4 very challenging holes; overall, not to difficult.
Priced a little higher than I would expect for this level.
Friendly, Pleasant Course
Fun course to play with a very helpful friendly staff. Greens and tee boxes were a bit rough, played 18 holes in under 4 hours which is outstanding in Florida in March
Fun Time--Interesting Course
This course offered a variety of holes and challenges. Oddly it put Par 3's back to back. Didn't really care for that. Some of the greens were a bit rough but the tee blocks and overall condition of the course was good. Played as a 4-some and had to wait on a couple of holes but overall a 4 1/2 hour round was enjoyable. I'd play it again.
Decent value
The layout tries to enhance the playing experience with doglegs and water. Can't use the driver as often as you're used to so strategy comes into play.
Ugh!
Deep Creek is an average course with a good restaurant. My ratings for the course would have been much higher except for the pace of play. It's ridiculous when you come up to the 4th tee and there are 3 groups ahead of me WAITING to tee off. There is really no excuse for this kind of backup. There was not a ranger to be found to promote and encourage faster play. I was greatly disappointed as I had heard great things about Deep Creek.
tee times
Overbooked! got in 12 holes in five hours and tee times were booked after ours. The couple we were paired with had played the course three times and had gotten in more than 12 holes.
