Spook Rock Golf Course

Very surprise to see such a great golf course that I never heard of before , an not that far away . The course was in great shape , and golfer friendly . We had a great time and would recommend this course. It is a city course and it is pricey so you have to look for a deal on golf now .

We teed off at 3:00pm as a twosome. After the third whom the group ahead of us asked us to play with them to make a 5 so that our pace of play would match the people ahead of us. There were certain holes where the line to tee off was two to three groups deep. We stopped after a 3 hour front nine and called it a day. The course itself is actually great, 6800 from the tips with all par 5 holes exceeding 500 yards . The conditions and greens were excellent as well, but the pace of play was the worst I've ever seen. If I were to play again it would be at 6:30 in the morning knowing no one is ahead of me.

Used to play this course regularly years ago but then it became an "in" course due to Golf Digest. Also it seemed to cater to residents and regulars more than the general public. But thanks to GolfNow, I played it again and had a lovely time. It's a really good layout and wasn't soggy after recent rains.

For someone who doesn't live in the town it's a high price for public golfers,$85 with cart, the up side is layout is very good and worth a trip 1 or 2 times per year.

I played this course many times over the years. It continues to offer a challenge for my 14 handicap. It never gets boring. One of the best available to the public courses in the area but direct booking for out of area is $85 which is too expensive. Through Golf Now it's reasonable. Typical round is about 4.5 hours and can be slower. Play on off days.

Great condition. Challenging track. A must play for the area. Have always enjoyed playing this course.

greens recently aerated. understandable. but not rolled at all so way too bumpy. lots of bare areas chipping around greens. understandable this early in year. fairways fine. sand in bunkers better than last year where they never groomed bunkers. played for $39; which is fair. i don't feel this is an $80 course anymore. pace about average for Sunday afternoons where 5 hrs is the rule rather than the exception.

Clubhouse guy offered us a 15 hole rain heck. Ridiculous.

I like playing this course and its pretty close to my house. However, the grounds crew does a poor job with the leaf removal. Not just on the greens but everywhere. Its fall golf so I expect to lose some balls. But my foursome lost 15 balls LOL. And our scores were 75, 81, 86 and 109 so its not like we're a bunch of choppers. It was as if the grounds crew didn't do anything for two days. Tell me how the course has so many leaves to start a Saturday, the busiest golf day of the week. But I bet if you go on a Monday and pay $20 less you won't find a single leaf and have smooth and cut greens. I wonder if the golf course realizes just how much this slows down play. All this does is frustrate golfers everywhere and you then get the tough guys who start hitting into groups creating dangerous situations. All because the course staff can't get it right. A change to the maintenance schedule is needed. Monday -Friday doesn't work for a golf course

I like this course but it can be expensive to play. The hot deal we got thru Golf Now was a great bargain. It was a beautiful day in November so the pace of play was slower than normal but we enjoyed the round regardless.
