Scenic course
Beautiful course with lots of water and palm trees which are a joy to look at. Putting greens I would expect to be in better shape for the price as sand residue was on them. Overall a wonderful time for golfers of all skill levels
Aeriation had impact on condition rating however it was done as well as can be expected. Some rain would help.
Scenic Track, Great Staff
We had a nice day at the course. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly staff and they got us right off. The course had a nice layout, very scenic, lots of wildlife and just an overall cool atmosphere.
The only negatives for us were- the greens had just been sanded, so overall it was tough to do any sort of putting, a couple of the holes it was so bad we just picked up and counted what we thought we would have had. The other thing was the pace of play. There wasn't anyone on the course monitoring pace (which is understandable in these times), but we got stuck behind multiple groups with young kids playing which left us standing on tee boxes 15-20 minutes at a time. The group in front of us particularly, had a kid that swung 5 times without contacting the ball before spinning around and falling on the tee box after a swing, while we waited at the box further back. We eventually skipped the hole and passed them since they looked like they had no interest in allowing us to play through. I am all about kids getting out and learning and enjoying the sport, but there are courses for that and in my opinion, this probably isn't one of them.
Beautiful and Challenging
Honestly, as a first time visitors I was overwhelmed with how much the course exceeded my expectations. The ground conditions were excellent overall, but rough in some crucial areas that was being tended to. The staff and clubhouse were great and the carts were quick enough to get my duo through 18 in three hours flat. We will absolutely return!
Little gem on Sanibel
Just played the front nine holes, did not have time for the back. Was pleasantly surprised, very pretty course and I found the conditions perfect up until the green on 9 which isn’t in great shape. That will not spoil an otherwise very fun and nicely conditioned course that has a lot of picturesque holes. Definitely recommend at least from a first nine perspective.
Nice time for the money
Enjoyable day. The course is certainly not in the top courses of Florida but priced right for the traveler and novice golfer. The woman at the reception is always super nice and helpful and the person getting the carts ready as well. Will play again next year.
Back again
Parts of the course were good. Parts ( new cups) were bad.
Fairways were pretty good , some greens were patchy.
Poor Service
I am sorry...but if we pay $114 each for a round of golf we shouldn’t have to follow the greens keepers for most of the round while they mow the greens. We waited to hit while they mowed on most of the greens. We would wait to hit up on a green then, on the next hole, son of a gun, there they were mowing the next green so we would wait again. And so on and so on for most of the round. I started wondering if, maybe, I didn’t tip the cart boy enough or something.
How hard would it be to mow the greens in reverse order so no one group had to follow them for most of the round?
On a positive note, the course is looking better and almost back to the condition it was when it was Beach-view.
Sanibel Island
Teed off at 9:38, played in 3:50 minutes, All of the staff (on and off the course) were very pleasant and engaging. I have played this course each of the past 3 years and seen improvements each year, While a few areas still need some work, they are doing a very nice job.
Nice Course
A bit expensive but nice course. No driving range. A LOT of water. Greens were in good shape except for one or two. Drink prices at clubhouse were ridiculous! No refreshment cart working the course.
Manage your expectations
course has potential, layout is challenging and hazards are plentiful but greens are slow, fairways were messy and there is no range
Course in disrepair
Pin positions are unrealistic greens are horrible no first cut no recognizable green. Fairways are decent. Tee boxes are good. The course needs some love.
Disappointed
If it weren’t for the hot deal which after playing the course was still not a great deal. Course is in terrible shape
Owen Boyagian
It appears that they are putting the greens on the back burner. They are in very poor condition. All of us commented about had we paid the full we would be extremely upset. And none of us would be back. There was no grill at the turn not even deli sandwiches in the cooler only candy bars.
Fun Course on Sanibel
You pay a bit of premium to be on the island, so the course fit and finish was not as good as a similarly priced course on the mainland (rough condition, fringe to green transition.
I liked the seashell surrounded tee-boxes and there was lots of wildlife, including a few gators.
Great staff and appreciated the coolers full of beer.
