Still tough.
Great course. Typically very well kept although a couple of tee boxes weren’t trimmed down like they should’ve been. But very challenging. If you’re looking to get yourself a challenge on the course this course definitely offers it. Very hilly and mountainous and a lot of undulation with approach shots and greens. I can typically stay in the low to mid 80s, but this course I am typically in the low to mid 90s every time easily.
Disabled players beware!!!
Greens were great, but fairways and tee boxes need some work. They failed to honor our disabled status(breathing issues) and didn't disable the carts GPS which required a LOT of up and down walking. Bar made a decent bloody mary.
Poor condition
Hole 7 & 8 were closed sanded greens and still charging 60$ for 18
What a great time!
Other than slicing a few drives....it was a great round. I appreciate the scenery and the creativity needed to do well.
Hilly
Disappointed I did not know of this course last year - a friend recommened it to me - finally weather was good for golf - despite frost in the Ground and bunkers the course was I pretty good shape considering the time of year.
Was lucky to play with a local guy who could guide otherwise I would have been in more problems than I got. Will definitely be back again.
Surprise December Golf in Asheville
Was not expecting to play golf during this trip but we saw a window. It was 38° and fog/drizzle the entire round. We weren't the only fools on the course, so that was a pleasant surprise. For this time of year, the course was great. Greens were understandably shaggy but definitely manicured. Guys in the clubhouse treated us as if we were everyday members. Will definitely come back.
Nice Course
This is a nice little course and will definitely play there again. The 3 star rating is due to the greens being a little “fuzzy” due to the rain and cold weather ( I’m guessing ) during the week and day I played there. I can’t wait to go,back in warmer weather to truly see the course at its finest.
Elderly lady inside the pro shop was extremely rude the second we walked in the door. She seemed very agitated that we were at her golf course to play golf. It’s a last resort these days.
Glove
1st time playing Chestnut, very challenging, hilly and need to be able to place drives in the correct area of the fairway to reach and place shots on the green. Love the challenge and test of all golf skills!
Keep it in the short grass
Had a blast as first out, playing solo and zipping through the course getting a good rhythm. Would have been phenomenal if I could have made more putts but enough looks at birdie or par to keep me coming back. First round post Helene and felt good to knock the rust off strong.
Keep it in the short grass as the rough could definitely use a mow and blow as the leaves are coming down. Greens were in good condition and quick, even with morning condensation.
