Great layout and condition changes between front and back nine. Friendly staff and beautiful surroundings.

First time playing at SG this year. We usually get over 4-5 times a year. Enjoy the layout and the course is usually in good condition. Greens were fast , a bit beat up from players not fixing ball marks. Fairways and rough very lush, and like most courses in the area , easy to lose your ball in the rough . Some of the tees were in need of attention, but overall the course was in good shape. The main problem with SG is slow play . If you read the reviews over the years, it always has been a problem. In fairness, they did have a tournament going on earlier in the day, but we played behind a 5 some that took us to a 4:45 round. Apparently the group included the new owner, so nothing could be done. I hope this is not a sign of how slow play will handled going forward.

Beautiful as it gets. It continued to wow me & my playing partner & we we are both very golf course picky. Beautiful design, friendly pro shop staff, excellent range & practice area for putting. Simply loved it & will play it again m as my times over. Favorite in NC.

Went and played by myself. I thought the course was outstanding. Had a group of 4 in front of me that took a little to let me through but they really didn’t hold me up much. I had a tee time at 7:25 and the sun was in my eyes on a couple of holes and the steam from the water obscured some ball flights but I was able to find all of my shots. Would highly recommend.

great course and a must play only Jack Nicklaus in the triad. great layout always in good shape.

I play this course every year on my birthday (9/11) I love that the course is always in great shape, friendly staff keeps you coming back!!!

When you redo the course-have either one or the other hazard in front or back of the green. For example on the par 3 at hole 17.

Very helpful and friendly staff..nice range and pu/tting green.. course in great shape..greens prefect..pace was a little slow..but still ok..will definitely be back..

I have always had a great time playing here. The fairways were particularly nice this week. The greens were the perfect speed for a mid week round, but I am very disappointed in the pitch marks left behind and not repaired. I know this course gets a lot of member traffic, but I was repairing 3-4 pitch marks in addition to my own. Other than the unrepaired pitch marks, the course was and usually is in great shape and is always my preferred place to play in the area.

This course was in great condition and had the best greens I’ve played all year. I shot the best round of my life here and broke 80 for the first time. I will definitely be back soon.
