Good not great...
I think this course is great for you average duffers who are looking for a track that will suit them well.
Pros:
-Pace of play was fair
-All greens had consistent pace
-Few holes you need to work the ball on
Cons:
-Alot of crab grass is patched on course
-Very easy track for sub 10 handicappers
I feel this course like many in this area has been bitten by the "were not used to this much rain" bug and feel they will get the conditions back.
Great place
Great price, friendly staff, nice course. I'll definitely be back
great course
very friendly staff. course in good condition. nice variety of holes from wide open to narrow. greens were in good condition
Great course for the money. Very friendly staff!!
Love the course. Challenging and fun at the same time. Def will be back!
Nice Course
It's great to have a course that is "walking friendly" - with each hole being next to each other. Lots of opportunity to score low - and some very short par 4's. Hazards are well placed - -but a real fun course to play at.
Deceptively difficult but give you a chance if you hit them straight
Lake Shore is one of the areas older tracks and has catered to the IBM crowd for years until Brier Creek, The Crossings & other newer links popped up. The rub my older friends always had with the course was not the layout or the conditions...it was the "staff". It seems patrons were so plentiful at one time (research employees) that they did not always treat them so nice. My experience there recently has proven that this mentally has faded. The guys behind the counter were super friendly with a quick smile and instructions on getting out to the 1st tee to get my round started. The course itself was in VG condition for this time of year but the FW's are shaggy (all knock required) and the greens are slower than the newer courses. I mentioned the difficulty and #1 will quickly get your attention as even big hitters will need mid irons to reach the par 4. In closing...Credit the course Mgm team for stressing customer interaction from the club house. It may take a while for perceptions to change but now I can tell a different story when I hear the old grumblings.
Great course with a friendly staff
Best value for your money. Most triangle courses send off as many groups as possible and you have to fight slow play all day. Lakeshore does a great job of keeping everyone quick and doesn't overbook and crowd the course.
This course has a wide variety of golf holes.
This is a great course for beginners to average players. Even though there are some challenging holes a beginner golfer can still enjoy themselves without getting discourage. The greens are in excellent conditions. Without a doubt the best value in the Triangle.
good course to begginer
it is comfortable. And the club managed course very well.
Greens were in great shape as well as fairways - very wet from the rain but not terrible
Walked the course due to cart path only - both greens and tee boxes were in great shape - some standing water but we have had a lot of rain -
great coarse friendly people!
Had a great game here and the coarse was well maintained.
Friendly people and going to be one of my favorites!
Soft and shaggy
Fairway grass was quite long even after they were cut. Greens were long too. Kind of a kooky course in an obscure location. Decent deal for a quick round.
It's my home course
This is a great course for the price... Yes... The greens could be cut shorter since they are slow, and yes the fairways could be shorter. In the end, it's a really fun course... It has water to carry, fun par 5s, a risky, but rewarding short par 4, and it is not a flat course... Actually, most of the time the ball could be above or below your feet, which makes it quite challenging,
For the price range, this is my favorite course.... Most of the other courses in this range are flat and just not interesting,
Course looked good
The course was in really good shape. I had played it a few months back and it was a bit rough. It's not the longest course but it has some pretty interesting holes. The greens were a bit slow but in VERY good shape.
It's a great bang for you buck type course.
Great course for the price
I love playing here. Even after a 1/2" of rain the course was in great shape and 18 holes for $15 is a steal.
Great course for the price
Lakeshore is a great course for the new players or those looking to get a quick round in for a small green fee.
The course is not the nicest in the area but you get a great golf experience, most importantly they maintain their greens!
Overall the holes test your skill without a huge risk if you go for the tough shot.
Greens were average, but they were in great shape.
The layout of the course is a little simplistic. The overall distance is short, but this is a course to have a nice day of golf at. Greens are in great shape. This is great place for beginners!
It seems to be easy but It actually not. so, funny
Staff is very kind and that course is interesting.
Great staff, good layout, great deal.
The course was in decent shape. The greens looked great and rolled true, but the fairways were a bit patchy and could use some more attention. The layout of the course is great for a tactical game of golf. Do not expect to come out to this course and hit driver on every par 4 and 5. There is a decent amount of trouble and if you don't keep your ball in play, you will have trouble on this course. The pace of play is great and the staff was amazing. They drove by probably 4 times during my round ranger the pace, so that should not be an issue if you are worried about waiting on every shot. All in all, it's a great deal and a fun course.
Greens great, but fairways need to green up some more
My wife and I played and enjoyed the course. The greens were fast and true, but the fairways were mostly dry and hard to find a good lie on. But we had an enjoyable outing
