Not bad
Overall course was in decent condition. However greens were extremely slow. Had a flat tire on cart on hole 5 and starter allowed groups to jump in front of us as we made the turn . This slowed us to the point that the round was not that enjoyable.
Always a great course
This course is consistently very well cared for. One of my favorite courses in the area.
fun and challenging
this course is challenging and fun. on this day some of the greens weren't the best . this is the first time for me on this course to play cart path only and this really slowed down play.
Roger betts
Great staff
Friendly Professional staff
Course was difficult
Makes you think
Great layout
Love to play it again
Scenic Beauty
A bit off the beaten path, but worth the extra 10 minute drive. Good variety of holes, greens were in good shape especially on the back side. Front where a little beat-up. Fairways were a bit heavy, might be they were not cut due to heavy rains the day before; although the course seemed to drain very well only few wet spots. Loved the scenery, the wild life (deer, many different birds and ran across a very large turtle) and rolling pastures coupled with the freight trains running along side the course.
Only negative don't hit the ball in the rough, very difficult to find your ball even foot off the fairway. Also hard to find a flat lie!! Overall this is a hidden gem, but not for high handicapper, he or she might find it a bit too difficult.
For the price you can't beat it. The staff super friendly and helpful. The cart staff was still around after dark to load my clubs in the car, nice touch!!
You cannot walk - green to next tee in some cases very very long way apart.
Afternoon of fun...
The course was crowded because if a great rate on Sunday after 2pm. However, it is in great shape and was quite enjoyable to play... I would highly recommend playing Pevely Farns!
Fix the traps and greens
The traps are playable but could use some sand Several of them have wood batten boards expose and the interfear with your follow through. I actually hit the wood twice. Greens are very slow and bumpy. They definitely need to be rolled and coven tome TLC.
LOVE the course.
Overworked greens
Too much traffic on this course. Greens are pitted and peppered with divots. If is fun to play, but overpriced for its condition. Worth no more than $40/round.
golf St. Lewis
Only had one day for Golf and picked Pevely Farms.
Course was great, very hilly and challenging. People were fantastic.
Nice course but needs some work
Layout has some interesting holes, but several greens need work and driving range distance markers do not match up with what is posted for distance. We were required to stay on cart path even though the course was dry enough to handle cart traffic.
Great course
It was a mildly moist day so the course was mainly empty which made for a great pace of play this was my first time playing here and I remember tv ads when they first opened and all the perfect scenery shots they had and the actual course lived up to the hype. I'll certainly be going back.
Beautiful vistas
My husband and I played Sun. and we both thought the course was very nice and in good condition. We played in 3 hrs and 15 min. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The bag boys wiped our clubs off and we super nice young men.
Golf Club of Pevely Farms
This was an excellet experience. From Mike in the pro shop, to the starter, marshall, and concessions, everyone was very friendly and smiling. They appreciated that there were players at the course, and no one acted like any request or question was an imposition. The course is a strong layout that requires you to be able to work the ball in both directions, but there is no one required to play a hole (i.e. having the ability to run the ball up to the green, as oppossed to only being able to fly it on). It had been a long time since I had played this course, but I will be back.
Spring conditions
Traps were disappointing. Either muddy sand or raked sand that was compacted and desperately needs more sand for optimal playability. Fairways still dormant. Rough green and beautiful
Fun, Quick, Good conditions for late winter
Speedy round - very few on the course on warm, sunny late afternoon in March.
Fairways still a little soft from the winter thaw process. Carts were allowed in the rough (not fairway), which kept pace of pay swift.
Obviously, fairways have not "greened up" yet thanks to the long winter, but very playable.
Great price via GolfNow: <$20.
back nine not open
front nine was fine, back nine not open. would have played somewhere else; especially when you consider the price we were charged. We also played behind a group of 5, couple that with cart path only it was extremely slow play.
Good Winter Play Value
Love the course, gave it a good review mostly because it was February. Because it was February is why ratine was average; other times playing in Spring/Summer/Fall I would give the course Very Good to Excellent for Condition.
Great experience
Thanks for the great experience. Extremely friendly staff and great price for my first time out this season.
gulf at pevely
the gulf course was in good shape for a winter play. the location is easy to get to and the people are very friendly that work there.
Sir,
Thank you for your criticism, and we're very sorry you had a poor experience at our facility. We wanted to write to inform you that we plan on making some major changes to our starter and marshall situation this year in order to encourage a much better pace of play. We are also going to implement different processes to make sure our greens get, and stay, free of excess pitch marks, bumps, and slow patches.
We want your next visit to be perfect, and we hope we can turn that review into one of 4 or 5 stars the next time we see you.
