Charlotte National Golf Course

First off, staff were great. Secondly, driving range, pitching and putting greens were good. The not so good: Greens, while in good shape, were off-the-stump meter fast. Add to that the fact that most of the flag positions were on top little rises and you get lots of 3-putts. It was nearly impossible to hole any putts over four feet. Then there are the fairways—most had large areas that looked like they’d been drenched in a monsoon, even though it hadn’t rained for several days. Honestly, they looked as tho they’d not been tended to in a good while. Finally, pace of play was very slow—however, there were a ton of golfers out there (on a Wednesday afternoon!). Of course that’s to be expected given the number of players. Marshals were out and about. So, not such a good experience overall, but the course layout is good, lots of H2O and broad fairways as well. If the course dries out and the greens calm down it’ll make for a better outing. Sorry for the not-so-good review!😔

I play charlotte national often I never had played it after a major rainstorm. They need to work on a draining system. The course is not a good course to play while it's wet. It does not drain, but still a great layout.

Played Cobb’s Glen today for the first time and everything, from the staff to the course condition was a 10 out of 10. Some of the best greens in the area.

Love this course. Played here probably 15-20 times before. When checking in told it was going to be $70. I told them I had booked with GN, and it was $54.00 for the round, and I have the confirmation. They told me that Golf Now does not realize they are charging holiday rates for Labor Day and just blamed it on the website. Ladies inside doing the food are always incredible, super sweet. She also makes a great chili for the dogs! Still will go, just felt like we got hood-winked.

This was our first time playing this course which we enjoyed. The course was in great shape. The greens were surprisingly quick. Plenty of challenge, yet forgiving. The pace of play, however was awful. We waited on every hole and at times there were multiple groups waiting on the same tee.

Really enjoyed my round! Nice course in good condition considering the recent heavy rain. Was very impressed to play 18 in under 4 hours on a weekend!

Played here a few times, once for the Margaritaville tourney a couple of years back. Fun course, great value. It’s in better shape every time I go out there. Always a good time playing here!

Course was in good shape for a public course. Couple of greens were like concrete, but it’s hotter than hades, it happens…

Really only had 2 complaints that were glaring, otherwise it was a great track and I played a great round:

1. One of my buddies showed up before everyone else and went in without knowing I had paid ahead of time on Golf now, the golf shop guy charged him. No big deal when I showed up. I walked in and explained that we had already paid through Golf now and asked him for a refund. The guy said he had no authority to do anything for us and we had to ask for the money, he paid the shop for the round back from Golf now… What the heck???. I basically looked at him like he was stupid and asked him if there was anything he could do… Like a rain check? he finally acquiesced, and my buddy got a rain check for the value of the round that he already paid for…. that I had already paid for…

2. The starter had the audacity to tell us to stay hydrated… But there were absolutely no water coolers on the course not a one… Thankfully, I had my own water. However, one of my friends did not, and I had to share everything I had with him on the front 9. Not a big deal…but it’s 101 degrees… why not fill and deploy some coolers?

Course was in good shape. Greens were really good and fairways were nice. Didn’t need to improve lies. Rough was tough but fair. Overall a good course but not hard. But The person checking in folks was not in a good mood. As an employee at another course I asked for a discount and that seemed to upset him. It’s not so much what he said but how he said it. Did not represent charlotte national well.

This basic course has very good greens and fairways. Mostly flat terrain except for 3 holes. Range has beat up balls and needs new turf and grading. Rates feel high for the golfing experience provided. Need discounts.

I just relocated from Scottsdale, Arizona to Charlotte, North Carolina. I discovered through an acquaintance this lovely golf course with a wonderful staff great men’s league and a very, very enjoyable experience. I’m proud to call it. my home course and will be here for hopefully many years to come thank you for being so friendly and welcoming. I’m out of town and a new resident to the area. I feel like I’ve known the guys for years and the ladies in the snack bar are incredible hats off to , Patty, Pam, Carol and Summer. Who makes the greatest breakfast sandwiches known to man.

Played this course 4-5 times and it’s never been as slow as it was. Had a twosome in front of us leave to go play the front nine. Took almost 6 hours to play...mostly due to the back nine.

Just punched the greens a few weeks ago. Seem to be coming back nicely.

Fun course great staff. Just super slow for some reason. Several groups backed up.

Best bang for your buck at Charlotte National! Course is in good shape and you cant beat the price. Will definitely be returning!

Charlotte National has some of the most reasonable prices in the city when it comes to green fees. Hard to find a course that is less than $40 for a weekend round, let alone one with awesome greens. The greens were some of the nicest I have played in the Charlotte area and I’ve played about a dozen of local courses over the years. Fairway store were in good shape and the tee boxes weren’t all jacked up or filled with a dumptruck full of sand. Bunkers needed some love and were hard and water logged, but we did just get some decent rain a couple days before. Staff was alright, nothing to write home about, but no complaints either. Clubhouse was small but had everything one would need. Carts are gas and need a little love, but work well. Overall, great value for the money, and pace of play was quick. We finished under 4 hours as a 2 some. Course could use some more imagination and more creativity with he layout, but overall it was a fun course and had a decent variety of holes.
