Victoria Golf Course

I don't want to be mean, but I could not believe this course as allowed to be open. Most of the course, including the fairways, was literal mud and dirt. It blew my mind that they were actually operating. I thought maybe this was a temporary situation but when I asked around I was told that it's been like this for years. Take a look from Google Maps and see for yourself. I did myself and thought that must be an old overview photo when the course was under construction but no.

The staff was nice and friendly, I can at least say that positive thing about the visit.

Players looking for a grass filled experience will be saddened as it seems they forgot to include it. Great amount of bugs though

This was the absolute worst golf course I’ve ever been to. The fairways are either dirt, dirt/rocks, or weeds. To make things worse there are so many gopher holes everywhere that even hitting the ball down the middle doesn’t guarantee you’ll find it. And if you hit the ball out of bounds you shouldn’t go looking for it around the bushes because there are signs everywhere to watch out for rattlesnakes. My clubs took a beating. I chipped my 3 wood because of the little pebbles in the fairway. I can’t overemphasize how bad the whole experience was. To be fair there were about 3 holes that were half way decent. I would have asked for my money back, but I would rather just make the point of not going back ever again. It goes without saying that I’m not going to be recommending this course to anyone.

Nice Par 3 course and local. Pricing is FAIR but early in the morning Tee times are very hard to enjoy when they are cutting and watering the greens to the MAX. The ball does not roll

The last time I played Victoria Golf Club was 30 years ago. At that time, it was one of the finest public golf courses in the Los Angeles County area. Even today, the layout of the course is terrific, however, the overall condition of the golf course was absolutely deplorable and the worst that I have ever seen in the 50 years that I’ve been playing golf. To have a course that literally has fairways with no grass and are made of mud, hard pan, gopher holes, and every now and then a clump of grass makes absolutely no sense and I can’t believe that this course is still open for business. I will say that the greens were in very nice shape and putted extremely well which makes it doubly hard to believe the overall condition of the course again, it was horrible and Los Angeles County should be a shame to charge the rates that it charges for this golf course given its condition. I will never play it again, and I will never recommend it to any of my friends who play golf. The court deserves better and so do the players who play this course on a regular basis.

Sure a lot of the fairways are dirt but the layout and greens make it worth the price. Great for practicing if you’re a beginner and trying to learn! The carts aren’t the fastest but if you want a lowkey course that’s more easy to medium to play then try it out.

Was VERY disappointed with the condition of the whole place

Wow. Sadly this is barely a golf course because 90% of it has zero fairway or even grass. The greens were remarkably good but it couldn’t make up for the conditions overall.

The photos promoting the course here on Golf Now should be illegal. The course in the pictures looks great. The real course has no grass and looks like a WW2 battle field. Fox holes, mud, you name it, it’s there. This might be the worst course in Southern California. I don’t think anyone would care if they developed houses here and closed the course.
