Chester Washington Golf Course

The greens are currently under aeration and have been oversanded.

I really wish golf courses would make it clear to see when they are punching/sanding the greens, placing the pin 20 yards in front of the green and putting on the fairway. Instead they hide it because they would lose money but I guess it’s ok if the customer loses money right?

It would be nice to see the green are punched BEFORE making a tee time.

Because the golf course was very quiet due to the football game, I was able to enjoy golf comfortably and without any rush throughout the round

The course is in good shape, fairways are green and the rough is very challenging while they let it grow after the rain. The greens are the only drawback to playing here, they are pretty beat up and many of them have blight and brown patches. Overall fine except for the greens.

Course is in need of much love. Fairways and first cut with lots of bare spots. Greens very very bumpy and in need of repair in many areas. Pace of play was 5:45 - rough even for a Sunday. No Marshall help to keep things rolling. Friendly staff in pro shop, Chester Cafe (solid pours from bartender) and starter. Layout is challenging and speaks to past days of glory and legacy. Sad to see the disrepair.

I have a high handicap, but I try my best to keep pace. somewhere around the 7th hole we started getting jammed up. It stayed that way until the 18th. For a sunset game, I started early enough to finish, but the. pace of play was so slow, that we ended just after dusk. Lost two balls out in the open, just because we couldn't see. The last player I was with lost three.

Some of the greens were being repaired, so I do see the potential, but overall, the greens had patches of missing grass and they were very bumpy. I did notice on the back 9 less divot repairs, probably just the late hour of play.

The grass on the fairways was ok, but the grass in the rough was insane. Really grabbed a hold of the club.
