Chester Washington Golf Course

Vibes. Course is just full of them. R&B radio on the driving range, history, and well maintained. With that said, we had a couple holes 5 & 6 which were set up with really brutal pin positions and over rolled greens which caused putts to go uphill and roll back down unless you made them which should be addressed. Overall enjoyed the round.

Chester Washington Golf Course look great, except for Hole #2. The greens needs some Love..........⛳️. I had a great time Golfing @ Chester Washington.......😁😀🏌‍♂️🏆. Go Golfers..........😎.

The course itself is in good shape and the staff are friendly the big issue here is pace of play along with very slow to get off the 1st tee. Our tee time is at 1220 and we didn’t tee off till 145-2 it got dark around 630 and we only finished 14 holes. Not sure if this can be fixed but I don’t plan on playing this course again unless I get there very early.

Our original tee time is 12:36 pm March 1sr last Sunday.

There are so many groups waiting for 1st hole tee start.

We ended up starting 1:35 pm one hour behind schedule.

Also pace of play is freaking slow so we stopped playing at 9th hole.

Every time I came here I found carts shortage and overbooked tee times especially weekends. It's been a while like these situations.

They never tried to improve these.

The starter has a horrible attitude and allowing people he knows, who do not even have a paid tee time, to tee off in between other paid tee times. The starter was not even being secretive about it. He got into an argument with one of the employees bringing carts out about it. That employee ended up leaving so there was nobody to bring out carts except for the starter. Everything was backed up about 20 to 30 minutes past your actual tee time. This seems to happen every time I play here. I highly do not recommend playing here unless you want to start 30 min past your tee time and take 3 hours to play 9 holes.

Love the layout and the historical significance of Chester Washington Golf Course.

I would recommend not playing on the weekend.

We played on a Sunday. Our tee time was 11:16. We teed off at 11:45. The front 9 took nearly three hours to play.

I will play here again - though not on a weekend.

Worst cart ever been in sounded like it was breaking down half the time. They told me 20 minutes behind at check in but ambassador rushed everyone out “on time” and backed up pace of play. It took 1.25 hours through 3 holes with 3 full groups at the same while waiting in line.

There were 3 of us and we all paid the 18w/ cart rate but because 1 decided to walk they wouldn’t let us have 2 carts even though it was paid for.

Terrible and not worth $60+

Don’t book a afternoon round consistently running 1 hr behind on tee times even if your walking iso it’s not a cart problem and you better stay on them or the starter will forget all about you this happened twice now the manager looked like he crow-led out from under a rock with attitude

Set tee times 6mins a part so inevitably backs up. No carts were available so needed to get lucky with someone finishing before your tee time. Finally got off 45mins late then wait 15mins per hole. Quit after 9 holes

Your round starts like a typical muni experience…crowded practice green, crowded range, and a loudspeaker announcing who’s on the tee and next up…It’s a great time and old school type experience. Wouldn’t change a thing.

This is a great way to spend a few hours if flying in and out of LAX. Bring your own clubs though…rentals aren’t much to rave about. The first couple of greens were kind of beat up but as we proceeded the greens got better and pin placement got tricky on some holes. Nice elevation changes. Very walkable course. I enjoyed carrying my bag all day. I was a single paired up with three stellar people. We had a great day. Staff and other players were all friendly. Great value for the money. Will definitely return next time I have a chance to bring my sticks on a business trip to the area.

The starter was friendly but failed to maintain a schedule as we’re delayed for 40 minutes to start and only played 14 holes until about 4:40 pm on Sunday. The pace was terrible because we waited almost every hole for some bad golf etiquette players.

Marshall should be out pushing the pace of play. No reason to start over an hour behind. Even more upsetting could not get a refund.
