Sleepy Hole Golf Course

Course was in decent condition,tee boxes where beat up pretty bad . Greens where in good condition.

This course is amazing value for money, the greens were so pure and the fairways were well maintained. Bunkers need work but other than that, I will definitely be back to play again this season.

Great staff and the clubhouse selection for drinks and food.

My brother and his kids flew in from AZ and we wanted to find a quality place but nothing too crazy since the kids are high handicap. We were able to tee off a few minutes early. The round was done in 4 hours. Tees and greens were amazing and we had a blast. Staff was friendly the rental clubs were not of high quality but they should get you through a round.

I hate leaving negative reviews, especially because Sleepy Hole has been one of my favorite local courses. Unfortunately, I've now had two separate experiences that raise serious concerns about the honesty and communication from the staff.

On June 6th, my group had the first tee time of the day. While standing on the first tee, an employee rushed over and instructed us to "play slow" and not finish the front nine in under two hours. Since we had the first tee time, we were confused and asked if there was an event or tournament behind us. He said no, that he simply needed his plan to work out by Hole 10.

Meanwhile, vendors were setting up signs, people were gathering around the clubhouse, and it was obvious some type of event was being organized. We intentionally slowed our pace and still reached the turn in under two hours. Expecting to get backed up, we stopped for food and drinks, only to be told again to wait 15 minutes before heading to the back nine. The strange part was that nobody was on Hole 10 and golfers were already teeing off on Hole 11. We proceeded anyway. The issue wasn't the delay, it was the unnecessary and seemingly dishonest explanations.

Then on June 20th, I booked a 4:18 PM tee time for two players. About an hour later, I noticed the reservation had been canceled. I immediately called the clubhouse and was told, rather rudely, that they had no idea why it was canceled and that GolfNow must have done it. I asked whether my original tee time was already booked to others, and was told yes, as a threesome.

I then booked a later tee time directly through the course. When I called GolfNow to understand what happened, they informed me that someone from Sleepy Hole had called and canceled the reservation, claiming the course was closed. That made no sense since I had just successfully booked a later tee time. The GolfNow representative called the course herself and was told that those tee times were actually being held for a members only event, yet somehow later became available to the public again.

Again, the issue isn't that tee times needed to be adjusted for an event. Courses do that all the time. The issue is being told different stories depending on who is asking the question.

Sleepy Hole is a great course, and that's what makes this disappointing. The golf course itself has always been one of my favorites in the area. However, after two incidents involving contradictory explanations and misleading information, I can't help but question the integrity of the management and staff. Several of my coworkers use this course for outings and events, and unfortunately I'll be sharing these experiences with them.

Staff is always friendly and helpful, good food at the turn and the course stays in great shape. Play here relatively frequently and always have a fun round. Challenging enough but not brutal for beginners.

The course is great, staff was awesome, there was a tournament that started 40 minutes before our teetime at 1:45pm and it completely messed the whole round up. There should be a feature that shows when a course is having a tournament or not. We teed off at 1:45 and it is 5:03 PM and we only just now finished the ninth hole. The tournament staff was super friendly but again it backed the entire course up so I paid for 18 and was only able to play nine because of time.

Stopped and played 9 holes while traveling further south. Pro shop staff was great and very helpful. Greens were nice but it’s still a little early in the year for some of the fairway grass and around the green to have filled in…give it a couple more weeks of warmer weather. Will definitely play again when we pass through on our future travels.
