First time playing for my little brother and he had a blast. Not too busy for a Saturday morning in the fall. Temporary greens were not terrible. The staff went above and beyond and were extremely nice. Bathrooms were maintained well and the layout is cool.

This course has SO much potential. But not as it is or currently managed. To begin with, our day started before our 10am tee time only to find the driving range was limited meaning, no drivers. Ok. Got some chipping in and call it ready to play. I knew coming here there were temporary greens in place. That really didn’t cover what we experienced. I get it. The Virginia summer was hot and dry, the greens got burnt up, you make allowance for play to continue on the course setting up what you can. I expected that. What I didn’t expect were the fairways to be uncut, the rough to be higher than my backyard, and rough cut holes full of water. To add insult to injury, the sprinklers cut on as we attempted to approach one “green” as they were trying to find a leak, mid morning, during play, as I was chipping onto a green that was at best a second or third cut and now drenched and unplayable. We didn’t make 4 holes of the 18 before we just stopped keeping score and played for fun and practice. The good news was it was less than $20 with a cart per person which, still provided us a beautiful day, some decent holes, a chance to swing some clubs and give the water hazards some of my balls. Course layout is…odd. We found ourselves doubling back to find where the next tee box was and then at 9, the clubhouse was no where in sight so we just kept going to 18. No cart person, food, or drinks offered. I’ll say there are some challenges to this course with regards to layout and water hazards which will make you think and in a good way. Some of the fairways are narrow with nearby housing and I lost a few to a yard or two. As stated, if properly managed, to include NOT doing maintenance in the middle of the day while golfers are paying to play, even on a Thursday, perhaps mowing in the mornings before play starts, and just check to make sure the cups aren’t full of water would be a start. Staff were friendly, grill was small but nice, carts were ok, but if I had paid more than $20, I would have asked for a refund. We didn’t, enjoyed ourselves as best we could, and just chalked it up to possibly never again. Beat being at work. It is a residential course in a city so, I didn’t expect a PGA course but, again, it has such potential just unrealized in my opinion as a casual golfer. I would imagine with grounds being maintained, greens at peak, cold drinks and snacks coming around occasionally, this course would be one that I’d frequent as a local and so would others. Sorry but, being honest.

When I made the tee time no where did it state TEMP GREENS. We were told when we checked in so had no choice but to play.

We would not have played if we knew in advance that there were temporary greens.

I would strongly recommend playing somewhere else.

When I booked through GolfNow, I was not aware that the course was playing on temporary greens. That alone significantly changes the experience and should have been made very clear before booking.

Unfortunately, the temporary greens were only part of the problem. The tee boxes were also in poor condition, and the overall professionalism of the staff was extremely disappointing. Maintenance personnel seemed to have little awareness that golfers were actually trying to play. They drove directly past tee boxes while we were preparing to hit, and at one point a maintenance employee stopped in the middle of the fairway to have a conversation with the marshal while we were on the tee box trying to tee off.

Course maintenance is obviously necessary, but there is a basic level of awareness and golf etiquette that should be expected from employees working on an active course. That was noticeably absent.

Between the temporary greens, poor tee boxes, and unprofessional course management, this was an extremely disappointing experience. There are far better places to spend your money and your time.

I will not be playing here again, and I strongly recommend golfers look elsewhere.

All greens are under repair…..I wish I had known when I prepaid. Never again.

I booked through golf now, we got to the course and it was under repair. The man at the front desk said I would receive a refund in a few days, it's been two weeks at this point and no refund. I am out about $80

course was in terrible condition. wet and mushy in several areas. course had temporary greens so the putting was out. they didnt tell us this tell we got there. course not good for golf unless you just want to hit drives off the tee box. the greens were in terrible shape and no work being done on them. save your money or go elsewhere.

Went to play on Labor Day. When I arrived, I was told their restaurant wasn’t open, so I could not purchase drinks or fill my water bottle. 12 beers wouldn’t have made this course enjoyable. The greens are absolutely trashed so they have set up “temporary” greens in the fairway, so putting is an absolute joke. There was also no signage between holes, so I got lost several times. You have to take your cart out on the street after 18 to get back to the clubhouse. Never again. Don’t waste your money here.

I've never seen greens with no grass on them. Putting with any consistency was non existent. The rough and first cut hadn't been mowed in a while so it was easy to loose your ball in plain sight. A crappy day of golf is better than a day of work... but not by much here.

I’ve played this course 3-4 times. The greens are gone. I sympathize with how much it cost to run a golf course but it seems that this course is on life support. Fairways and tee boxes are ok but the quality of a course are in its greens. The value of what I payed was fair but I will not be back to play this course.

I wouldn’t spend money here and I’m not planning on going back. The greens are in terrible shape. Fungus everywhere. They smell awful and barely have any grass. First time and won’t have a second

First, let me say that I luv course layout… ALWAYS have! But haven’t played due to the lack of maintenance… the GREENS look desert dirt.. dry, brown and crackly!

However, they do allow personal cards for play!

The greens are a mess. The rest of the course and lay out are one of the best public courses for the money.
