Wild Rock Golf Club - Wild Rock Championship Course

This is a must play public course in Wisconsin. Multiple tees challenge every level of golfer. Open off the tee but challenging, newly nodded greens. The superintendent knows what he's doing here with shaved approaches and the course starting to play more firm and fast than years past. Course sets up for risk/reward golf and separates goid shots from bad. Tons of variety in the holes. Just solid.

there is nothing wrong with the course, it is long, the fairways are huge making scoring moderate to easy. I was significantly disappointed in the proshop staff and bag boy. I do not need special treatment, but at $120 a round I do think some professionalism and attention to detail matters. It was a rainy wet day, storms had gone through and when I arrived early for our tee time the staff in the proshop looked annoyed that we decided to golf. I mentioned the radar looked okay, that the bad stuff had gone through. I was met with "well you can go anytime you want, it is cart path only, it won' t be fun, there is no bev cart so you will need to load up in the bar, you can start when you are ready. remember to keep the carts on the cart path, okay?" so first of all. I am paying to play, do not be annoyed when I show up. Second, I fully understand that when it is wet it is cart path only I do not need a an accusitory reminder. third who needs to "load up at the bar" prior to golfing, I did not come to drink, I came to golf. third, why won't it be fun? fourth, no one grabbed our bags that were set in the arrival spot. we had to carry them ourselves down a flight of stairs and then try to find a cart which were all soaked, there was no attendant, no ranger no nothing. after the round similar situation. the cart attendant/bag boy came out, jokingly said he refused to touch a partner of mine's Ohio State Buckeye golf bag...very appropriate and nothing wrong with the friendly banter, but that was followed with him standing and watching us remove our bags, carry them up around the side of the building to the cars. no offer to clean the clubs, grab our bags etc. What exactly was he doing there? were it not for the great group I was golfing with, it would have ranked up there with one of the worst rounds I have every experienced. not played, experienced. If they want to demand a premium price, I should expect a premium experience.

Paved cart paths, flat tee boxes, elevated tees, stunning views, readable greens, good food, great service, gps carts. 5+STARS

This is one of the best public courses in Wisconsin. Generous off the tee but challenging approaches and greens. Great layout with rolling hills, risk reward holes and topography.

I just love this course. They've done a lot of work to fix some of problems with tee boxes and greens.. cleared a lot of trees to open up air flow. Fairways are beautiful as always. I'll be back soon when things grow in.

Greens were the worst part before but now since I was there in the early part of the year greens looks 10/10 times better minus the last part 5 other then that back to looking like wild rock greens aren’t as fast as they use to be but in time I’m sure they will be

The guy in the pro shop must have gotten up earlier than he is used to because he was not very friendly. The course was great until you got to the greens, I have played on municipal courses with better greens. They know how bad it is but give no discount or tell you ahead of time. I would rather go to Trappers Turn than give this course any more $$$.

I have played here every year at least twice for years. Beautiful layout and great views. There were 4-6 greens in bad shape. 9th 17th and others with a grass disease. They should tell players the situation. When 25% of the putting greens are bad, many players will want a discount or play elsewhere. Never experienced this at Wildrock in 10yrs.

Several greens were unputtable.Two going in the hole birdies kept me from a two over 74 score. Great course except for the god awfull greens. Have to think twice before playing it again. That was messed up!

Great layout overall conditions, good green’s horrible not even playable especially for that price. Give it a year or two hopefully the greens get better.. also cartpath only in relatively dry conditions on the course.

I love the layout of Wild Rock but this year their greens were in bad shape. They are working to get them back but I’m not sure what happened to them. Staff is very friendly.

The course is great amazing views well laid out, but the greens are horrible almost unplayable in some of The sections. I hope they get it figured out. I like going back there.

This course was a disappointment. Right off the bat the the starter tells us the pace of play if 4 hours and 40 minutes for their typical round. There is no rangers on the course making sure the pace of play is on time so everyone is stacked and we waited 10 mins+ on every tee box. The greens might have been the worst greens my group and I had ever played on. Half of greens under repair and other half have dead spots all over them. Greens were extremely slow and basically like putting on a fairway as the ball does not roll it bounces. Horrible experience for the $120 they are charging for the round and not to mention nobody from the starter to the pro shop mentioned the greens were “recovering”. Only took pictures on the last 7 holes but all of the greens were this way. Will not be coming back. Would not even be a course I would spend $60 at for the round.
