About
Situated between Greenville and Spartanburg, Willow Creek Golf Course is a favorite course amongst many area players. The course has a classic layout that starts out gently with a player-friendly front nine but then becomes much more challenging on the back nine. The layout is a seemingly mild 6,890 yards from the back tees but it can feel longer because of all the elevation changes you'll encounter. It's a golf course that will appeal to beginners but advanced players will also enjoy the many risk-reward opportunities that can be found throughout. Water hazards come into play on eight holes and there is a slew of strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides. The par-5 fifth hole is Willow Creek Golf Course's signature. This 516-yard hole tumbles across rolling hills with a stream that cuts right through the fairway.

Great shape!
3rd time playing this course and it's been in immaculate condition every time. Fun layout. Super fun course!

Perfect condition from the box to the greens. Go now and play at Willow Creek for a awesome round of golf. One of the best courses to play in the upstate for sure.
Course is n exceptional shape
In many places the fairways have at least a half an inch of grass and still the ball sits right on top of it, it's been a good season to grow apparently. The greens are a great shape as well and I like to practice facilities.
Did a signpost to hit off the mats. Could understand that being September and wanting to preserve the Bermuda. But the rules should not extend to drivers. The Matt will allow you to set a ball on a tee, BARELY, still no one is hurting the Bermuda by hitting a driver.
Yet anytime the staff , in the Pro Shop , thought someone was not hitting on the mat would come out and yell at the supposed offender.
Based on several other reviews that highlighted the rudeness of the staff I think it's time for a come to Jesus meeting with them ; staff rudeness public golf course it's completely out of line in any situation other than somebody abusing the course
Willow creek
Tee to green the grass was pretty good. Greens were good as well. However the cart paths here might be the worst I've ever seen they're virtually undrivable. It's clear the owner doesn't put anything back into the course besides gas for the mowers
They haven't cut actual cups in the putting green for a few years now. The tee boxes are also hilariously unlevel, big dips and depressions in them. Courses need to understand that it's all in the details. If I didn't get the hotdeal to play here I'd never pay what they ask to play this course.
Overall review
This was the first time playing here. I'm from Myrtle Beach and my brother was in from Florida. Course was in excellent condition. Everyone from the check in, to the food service counter inside, to the starters were extremely friendly. On the other hand, pace of play seemed to drag on, and never saw a cart girl until the end of the 10th hole. Sad because it was in the mid 90's that day. All around, 4 out of 5.
Willow creek
Great course that’s always in great condition. My favorite course in the Upstate. The only complaint is the speed of play. Today was 4 hours and 20 mins.
Slow as always
Course in its usual good shape, but a few greens a tad slow. Tees & fairways in good shape, although a few fairways are starting to dry out here & there. Biggest issue, as always is here, is pace of play. Another 5 hour round on one of the easier courses, that should not take anything over 4 hours for a 4some. Had 4 groups spread out on #14. Basically waited every shot throughout the day, and never a ranger in sight. Why I dont play here more often.....always slow, and cart paths are starting to get really bad. Plenty of better options out there for the price.
Great Course
We had a blast. The outdoor staff, specifically, the starter could have been more welcoming, but that won't stop us from playing again.
Great Time - Great Course
We loved playing Willow Creek today. It took right at 4 hours and the course was great. The staff outside could have been a bit friendlier to my sons (18 & 26) but that won't keep us from returning. We had a great time.
Frustrating
We haven’t played this course in 15 years. The cart paths are horrible!!!!! It was over 100 degrees with the heat index and there was no beverage person riding the course. There was no ranger to keep the pace of play moving. We were stuck behind four men who sprayed the ball everywhere so we had to wait at least 5 minutes on every tee shot. That meant the group behind us was sitting on our tails the whole time, 3 groups on one hole. The one positive was the gps on the carts, it let you know exactly how far ahead the other carts were AND that we were delayed and that’s why we were behind in our allotted time. We got so frustrated that we quit after 9 holes. We won’t go back.
