They will rip you off

This place over charges for everything. If you want to go and have a couple drinks with your buddies you will be spending a ton of money. 12 bucks for a 12 ounce bud light and other similar beers. 15-19 bucks for little shooters of liquor that cost 3-5 bucks at any store. Hot dog that came out of a beef franks hot dog package for 13 bucks. A breakfast sandwich for 15 bucks you could get at McDonald for 4 bucks. They charge Disney prices even to residents. Course was nice but everything else including the lady working at the outside bar were extremely rude. Live close but will

Never go again

Water

If you like water then you’ll like this course. Tee boxes were not great / chewed up. Greens were ok but slow - maybe that’s the Bermuda but felt the grass was a little long.

It was a challenge and given the cost was ok for value.

Resort golf

Came down from Maryland to play here. Wanted to play a nice course and don’t get me wrong it was a nice course, but when the hotel has the driving range full of tables so the only warmup you can get is 5 foot chips onto a packed green it really leaves a sour taste… any other weekend I’m sure it’s fine but not a great first impression

Perfect shape

The course was in amazing condition. The grass was green and perfect. The greens were amazing with a type of grass not too many courses down here in Florida use. The course is a par 70 and from the Tips it’s only 6200 but it definitely feels like a place longer. I played the greens which are one up from the Tips and it was 5700 yards but it felt like I was playing 6400

Don't ask, just play it

Absolutely top 3 of my courses, been coming down for 10 years and always play different courses and this one has been on my radar..and one of the greatest I've played..cool downtown vibe and very manicured...tough placement shots here and there but you have to play..

A first class facility

Challenging course. Impeccably maintained.. unbelievable diamond zoysia greens. Two island greens. A course you have to manage.

Great staff and training facility. Truly a wonderful day. It’s a Marriott resort course so not cheap. Only suggestion I have is a grill with outdoor seating by the 18th green.

Our first time playing Hawks Landing (tried many times previously without success). Definitely one of the best all round courses in the area though back 9 very challenging. Would thoroughly recommend

Solid course, target golf on some holes, lightning greens

Played here as part of a 6 day, 7 course golf trip. I usually don't play here often due to the cost but we splurged and the guys I played with loved it. The course is interesting as it is not long but requires accuracy and the greens are diabolical in how fast they are. I do appreciate the layout but some holes, like the first par 5, require two short shots before going at the green. Also, the last hole, which is a par 3, is a 200 yard carry to basically an island green that is the number 1 handicap hole. Strange to finish on that. I think flipping the 9s would make more sense. It is a gorgeous course and I definitely would play here again if it was on a discounted rate.

Great Course close to resorts

We had a blast playing this course. The excitement started after we hit the bag drop. Driving to park our rental car a ball came over the clubhouse and landed in the parking lot narrowly missing a couple of cars. The staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze. Hit some balls on the range and headed out. The course conditions were good and the pace of play was great. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

One note - we only saw the beverage cart twice and drinks are expensive.

Not sure if it’s worth the price point

Had a fun round at HLGC, but to be honest, not sure if it’s worth the true price point. Especially after the $60 rental club fee.

Course was in decent shape, dry in certain areas but manageable.

Greens were crazy fast but that really wasn’t a deterrent,

I’ve just seen courses in better condition for a cheaper price point.
