Scottsdale Country Club - The Championship Course

I really enjoyed playing the golf course. The staff was really friendly and it’s a Supervalu. It was also fast to play, and everyone chill, it was fast to play, considering the fact that it was midday and very hot!

The driving range track man was out of service. The practice putting green was closed. The tee boxes were bare dirt on most holes. With temperatures over 100+ degrees everyday, water should plentiful, but it’s not. Only water was at the bathrooms and only one on the front and one on the back. But, they are happy to charge you for water along with any other drinks from the beverage cart that we only saw once on 18 holes. The name is very misleading. This is not a country club course. This is clearly a local course and should not advertised as anything but a local public course.

Good price @ $22. Course is getting better now that the turf is in on the fairways. Recommend you play soon before over seeding. You won't be disappointed!

This course has improved quite a bit since the last time I played. You can see where they have had some turf issues but are being addressed. Greens were in good shape. It's a a straight forward track, not difficult and fun

Played end of August. I was a little skeptical because of the reviews, which I don’t understand. For the price this is a great course, if you keep it in the fairway you will be just fine, the course will punish you otherwise. Good pace on the greens, everyone had a smile on there face for it being 115 degrees at 2 pm.

Actually pretty good condition considering the heat of summer. Greens were in real good condition.

Pace of play can be slow but this is a great course with very friendly staff.

I usually love playing this course, but today it was off. No one to load clubs, the girl at check-in was not friendly at all, the bar staff just didn't care. The day I played was not a good start; the course was very dry in several areas. I know it’s AZ, but I’ve never played it this dry. When I last played it, it was called Starfire and I didn’t have a single complaint. New name, maybe new management, but it will be some time before I play this again. There are way too many other courses to play with the being such a unfriendly golf course. Please, whoever reads this, please do better.

Played the Kings, oh my gosh, major course renovation..in terrible shape right now..don’t waste your money until fix up is in order!!!

We had a great morning playing first T time the first Hole was a shock as they were repairs going on. But hole one was the only hole we faced with repairs and if you can hit the fair way you were in grass I was not but course for the money was worth playing. Make sure you grab drink at the bar as we did not see a beverage cart at all.

I have played this course before during the summer months and was aware the condition could be a little rough, However, this time the front 9 of the course should have been closed. It was terrible and practically unplayable. The back 9 was at least playable It would have been better to play the back 9 twice and skip the front 9.

Not in prime shape BUT--Good summer golfing value, the greens are in okay condition with putts rolling on the slow side, the fairways, like many other valley courses, are brown or bare in some spots, fairways #1 & #6 have major portions sodded which were previously quite bare, a cold water should be placed on the back nine at the broken water fountain station, the staff are very friendly & helpful, it was a 3 hour round of golf, there is a nice covered driving range with a trackman screen

This is hands down the worst course I’ve played in three years!! We quit after 9 holes! I have played this course a half a dozen time and it has always been crap. Paradise Valley golf course was better!

Three of the 9 holes were under construction, we literally hit into tractors, grounds crew and sod that was dying. The fairways were terrible, the grass was all weeds and crab grass. No cart service, no starter, no ranger.

The only positive was the girl working the inside bar and the pro shop staff. Oh, and they have a nice driving range.

I do not recommend this course to anybody.

I have not played this course in several years and it will be several years before I play it again. Hard to find any grass on the fairways. Greens were ok, but slow.. it appears they are trying to sod some areas(roped off), but not putting much of a dent in the bare areas.
