Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa
About
The Catalina Course is one of two golf courses at Omni Tucson National Resort. It is more well known than its sister course, the Sonoran, since it is both the original layout and it has been host to over 30 PGA Tour events over the years. The Catalina Course is a traditional parkland layout while the Sonoran offers true desert golf, as its name would imply. The challenging design incorporates eight sparkling lakes and a total of 80 bunkers strategically placed throughout. The 18th is touted as one of the finest and most demanding finishing holes on the PGA Tour. This tricky par 4 leaves little room for error with water along both sides of the fairway, it also requires a blind tee shot to a well-protected, elevated green.

#16 plays fairly steeply uphill. I was 16 inches for a birdie, after hitting a solid 135 club from 109 out. Photo submitted by Jonathan5270953 on 08/14/2013

catalina course - tucson nat'l Photo submitted by bellefeuille on 11/25/2012
Basic.
The course was in nice shape but really not worth the inflated price. Really basic layout surrounded by houses with not much personality. There are much better courses in town for half the price. I would not recommend this course to anyone visiting town.
Nice course and amenities.
It is a little bit longer than average courses around, but great layout and challenging. the fairways needed some work, the grass wasn't the best, it is short grass for example, for that price I rather play San Ignacio at better time.
Great shape
Course is in great shape. Greens hold better than they have in my 15+ yr playing the course.
Great conditions
Course was fabulous, little pricey to play regularly but very fun course. Hole 15 is a super cool hole, up the hill! Recommend playing this course in the fall/winter.
Shaggy fairways
They don't mow anymore. Second time I've played this month. Overpriced and not maintained that good. Not coming back. The good reviews must be from course employees.
The course was in great shape.
The course was in great shape. My main complaint is they had cart path only which really wasn’t necessary due to the fact they were opening to non cart path only the next day. Then they charged $30.00 for my wife to ride with me not play golf but ride in the cart. This is the biggest scam since ACA health care act.
Great time to play
1/3 the price as during the season and same nice course
Get out here
This course is in such good shape right now. I've played it twice and it was $80 each time. It's worth that and more. It is hot, they do have water, very girls and someone driving around with cold towels. Greens are a 9 or 10. It's a good time for the heart and the money
Golfing Amenities and Staff
Great layout
Great customer service
(Clubhouse, starter, course amenities, cold towels)
Nice course
Played the dessert course in summer so price was good. If you like dessert courses this one was nice. Pace of play was ridiculously slow. Member groups basically stopped play so bad I didn’t even finish my round.
Don't book within an hour of a member group if you can avoid it.
