The Bayonet at Bayonet/Black Horse Golf Course

Classic Seaside/Monterey area course in great shape.Always fun.

This course I’ve loved for a long time, and Black Horse, but it’s unplayable the last few times. The fairways are like rough. The fringe is cut like fairways (which is like rough). Zero heads up about sanded greens but it wasn’t even sanded greens.. the entire facility is sanded, and it’s just the norm now it seems? I don’t know it was very odd. Thought it was one time thing but it’s been each time now couple months apart. It’s still close to $200 bucks tho. Hope it returns to its strengths.

I was over charged for my junior grandson. Very difficult to contact anyone with GOLF NOW.

Outstanding layout and conditions. Really unique flow from tee to green. Generally, staff is attentive. However, I mentioned pace of play twice to staff. And, nothing. Then we realized they let a Fivesome (with two walkers) go off on a Saturday morning. After telling staff this, nothing changed. In all, over 5+ hours (with waiting in every tee). Not acceptable… Course was great, pace of play horrible.

We enjoyed a great round of golf and felt that the course was in pristine condition. We would highly recommend to others and definitely plan on returning!

Our first time playing Bayonet. Beautiful course. In excellent condition. Hands off to maintenance team. Green is a bit tough. Many bunkers. Course management comes into play. Some holes have view of the ocean. Beautiful cypress trees. Friendly staff from pro shop to starter to the restaurant. Good food. Good drinks. Will definitely come back someday.

BUT - you need bathroom on the course not porta potties. Think about us women.

It was extremely slow the pace of play. The Ranger didn’t do anything to speed it up and it was very frustrating to pay all that money for one of the slowest rounds I’ve ever played.

Beautiful course. Perfect weather. My game reaked all over the course.

Coulda use a beverage cart, but over all the fairways and greens were in great shape. Will be back

Played the front nine in 2.5 hours behind a group of older gentleman. They had holes in front of them before the next group. Talked to starter after the front 9 and he had attitude off the bat. Then we were told it was a holiday weekend by a marshal and that is it what it is. Instead of politely letting us play through or telling them to try and speed it up we just got talked back too

Greens are bent grass very fast. Layout and tree line were beautifful.
