Pacific Grove Golf Links

About
Originally designed by Chandler Egan in 1932, the first nince holes takes you through the forested areas of Pacific Grove. Egan's nine takes you through an inland terrain and reflects much of the charm of an English rural course done in the old style.
The back nine was designed by Jack Neville, the original designer of the Pebble Beach Links. It opened in 1960, and is laid out in true links design over dunesland that approaches the sea.
Over looking the course is the Point Pinos Lighthouse. Built in 1855, it is the longest continuously operating lighthouse in California. It is a historical sentinel and picturesque landmark of the golf course.
A scenic tour of the dramatic coastline provides views of Lover's Point, Point Pinos, Crespi Pond and the natural dunesland at Asilomar. You will be enchanted by the abundance of natural wonders such as the plentiful Pacific Blacktail Deer, seals, sea lions, sea otters, pelicans and gulls.

Great course
Best course I’ve ever played, beautiful views of the ocean and great staff
Fun course!
Love playing this course when in town.
Lots of wildlife.
Greens were punched and heavily sanded
Pro shop attendant told us the greens had been punched but that they were puttable. They were not. There was so much sand on on the greens that it was like putting inside sand traps. The greens had not been cleared of heavy sand with brush roller until our last hole. Inexcusable!!!
Stunning Greens and Epic Fairways: A Must-Play Course!
What a treat to play here! The course hugs the coastline, offering jaw-dropping views of the ocean at nearly every turn. The design is challenging yet approachable, with well-placed bunkers and undulating greens that reward smart play. The sound of the surf is a constant companion, and the salty air just adds to the magic. Facilities are top-notch, A perfect golf day!
Million Dollar Views
PG is a municipal course with a decent parkland layout on the front nine. The back nine is adjacent to 17 Mile Drive with spectacular views of Monterey Bay and coastline. That alone makes it a must play course when in Monterey.
Fun Day at PG
I played PG for the 2nd time in the past 9 months. Aside from getting hit by a Golf Ball on the 5th Hole it was a fantastic day on the course!
I’ll be back to play again in October!
Peaceful at PG
My 3rd time playing Pacific Grove & it was a beautiful day for golf. Aside from being hit in the hand by an errant tee shot it was a very enjoyable day. I’ll be back to try it again in October! Until then, Cheers!
Nice views
Always have a good time playing at poor man’s pebble with ocean views
Nice day
Always have a good tin Ed when I play here get people and great vuews
Beautiful views on the back 9
I had high expectations for this course since it was being compared to Pebble Beach for the views. They were absolutely beautiful on the back 9. Too bad it was cloudy because I'm sure it is gorgeous with full sunshine. The front 9 was lush however the back 9 was a bit patchy and there was a lot of deer poop everywhere. I would have liked a bit more clean up happening.
Absolute must.
The course is in great shape and a fun layout. Front nine, solid, nothing special but nothing bad at all. But the back nine is exceptional. Great fun holes, A+views, honestly a must any time you come out to Monterey. Plus 10 l-15 minutes from all the fun of Monterey so very convenient.
