Del Monte Golf Course

We have played there many times in the past. We joined Pasadera as nonresident (we have had a second home in Carmel for more than 25 years) 7 years ago. The rates were reasonable then. My wife did not like the course and it was in terrible condition when we joined. The course has improved significantly but is too difficult.

We recently quit Pasadera and this was the first time at Del Monte in a long time.

The course was good. The only suggestion is to have people handle your bags when we get there and open up the exit to get your bags to your car when finished. You used to allow that and we would bring the cart back to the shed.

Although some fairways were a little sparce on grass and a couple of tees were too close to the adjacent fairway, I enjoyed my round. The setting is very nice and the value for the area is decent.

Golf course is always in great shape and staff is awesome

Great weather in Monterey for 18 holes--carried my bag--but the course is relatively flat, so no problem. Great price from GolfPass/GolfNow. Threesome and had very little wait throughout the round (4 hrs). It had been awhile since I played Del Monte & one forgets the difficulty based on its length. After playing easier courses my previous two rounds, this one let me know how my game really stacked up (hint--still needs fine tuning!).

Offline shots, you will pay dearly. Super thick rough and strategically placed bunkers make this short but narrow, small greens course a challenge. Took a while to get a handle on the thickness of the rough. Recently plugged greens were not too terribly bad.

Although the fairways were recently aerated, the course still offered a great experience, consistent with its reputation of excellence.

Del Monte rarely disapponts. A bit slower than normal due to a cart path only restriction, but as I walked no issues for me. Greens are the defense of the course and usually lead to a few too many 3-putts. Otherwise, cool ocean breeze complemented the sunny day. Look forward to another round soon. Hitting bays were unavailable due to Car Week preparations at the course.

We played Del Monte for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The clubhouse and 1st tee box staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and the course was in magnificent shape. The fairways were beautiful and the greens rolled true. We also loved the layout which was both challenging and interesting. We can’t wait to get back there if the prices remain reasonable. We are priced out of the other Pebble Beach properties so it was a treat to play here
