About
The 18-hole Diamondback Golf Course (previously known as Diamond Back at Woodland Valley Country Club) in Loris, SC is a Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda golf course that opened in 1999. Diamondback Golf Course was designed by Russell Breeden. The greens are Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda and the fairways are bermuda.
This modern Russell Breeden design is surrounded by unspoiled natural wetlands and lowcountry forest. Diamondback Golf Course is the first course on the Grand Strand to offer Sunday Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens. Strategically placed bunkers and lakes allow for a challenging round of golf that will make you return year after year

A must play
I have played this course twice and it is fast becoming a must play when I am at the beach. The course is not that difficult but it requires some skill and strategy in club selection. It has just enough water and tall grass to keep your attention.
Bachelor party
I brought a group of 13 guys in town for a bachelor party to Diamondback on a Saturday to play a little scramble. Most of us were hardcore golfers, but a small percentage of the group had never golfed in their life before, nor did they even own golf clubs, so I was a little apprehensive about how the day was gonna go. All I can say is that the head guy behind the counter couldn’t have been more accommodating to our situation, and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They offered us club rentals, agreed to let us share clubs if necessary, and didn’t even flinch when we asked for an extra cart for our 13th guy, who didn’t want to golf but just be part of the group. I definitely did not expect this in the MB area on a Saturday but, Diamondback delivered. Much appreciated!!!
Fun Relaxed but Challenging Course
Always enjoy playing this course. The course was in good condition even though it has been a dry spring. The team is always very professional. This course winds through fairways mostly lined with trees and I find it a nice change to some Myrtle Beach courses. Recommend giving this course a try.

Definitely worth the trip
Really enjoyed this course. Very scenic and good layout. Greens in good shape. A fair amount of water which made the course more scenic. Outstanding value for the money.
Staff was super friendly. We had multiple 4 somes starter worked his magic.
Fun challenging course
Had a good time ! They paired me up with a nice young man and he wanted to play from the shorter tees but that worked out best for both of us. Kept some of our drives in play. Course was in good shape.
Diamond 'hard'
overall the ground is so hard, not very playable, no ones scored good in our 4somes , its dry as F and need watering.. worst course conditions I ever played but for 35$ that what u get

Course was great, had some new players two groups before so it did get a little slow. I’ll come back next time down really fun course
Bad Experience
Unfortunately my experience at Diamondback was very poor. To start, the gas cart would sputter and backfire every time I pressed the gas pedal before it jerk forward. Then, the course was in ok condition, but certainly doesn’t compare to others in Myrtle Beach. I will say the course is challenging and not really for beginners. Next, the man who was working the pro shop when I arrived came out on the course and literally yelled at my group about slow play. Meanwhile, we were on our second shots on 10 and the group ahead of us was on the green. I told him we could only go as fast as the group in front of us and he waved me off and drove away. So I guess he was the Ranger too. At the end of my round I went in the snack bar to get a soda and he was working the snack bar too. I guess they are shorthanded which explains why service was sooo slow at the turn and all I wanted was a cup of ice. I definitely will not return and do not recommend the course at all.

A very good deal making it worth the drive
They need a Marshall slow play 3 1/2 hours to finish 12 holes. I quit had a fivesome on the green in front of me.
