Colonial Charters Golf Club
About
Colonial Charters Golf Club (formerly known as Palmetto Greens) is located in Longs, S.C. near Myrtle Beach. It has a laid-back atmosphere and is known for its consistently good conditions. The layout will test your accuracy with narrow, fairways and a variety of water hazards and sand traps. Golfers will encounter water on nearly every hole, two of them feature greenside waterfalls. There are also several strategically placed bunkers throughout the golf course and mature hardwoods line the fairways. There are a few challenging holes but overall it is player friendly enough for any skill level to approach with confidence. In addition to the golf course, Colonial Charters Golf Club has a practice facility with a driving range and chipping and putting areas. For those who are still learning, there are PGA Professionals available for lessons.

Great warm up course!
Conditions were not the best compared to other Myrtle Beach courses, but the layout was fun to play. There was no driving range to warm up but that’s okay. It’s a great value Course and they included 2 drinks and a sleeve of TP5’s. Don’t play it if your picky about conditions.
Promo made it worth it
Great Bang for your buck. Staff was super friendly and pace of play was great. October promo gave you a sleeve of TP5s and 2 drink vouchers. They advertise unlimited range balls but no longer have a driving range. Other than that, decent course to get in a quick 18.
Play Elsewhere
This was the first course I was to play for the 2025 World Am tourney so I played a practice round. The people were great, but the course was in very poor shape. Greens were slow, tee boxes and fairways a mess. I'm told they are closing this course and that might not be a bad thing. The layout was a good one that would be really a treat to play if the course was in decent shape. Bottom line is that everyone who played it called it a "dogtrack."
Great course to take the kids!
From my experience in the myrtle Beach area, it’s hard to find a course slow enough to enjoy a round with my 10 year old son. From the moment you get to the clubhouse you feel relaxed, no un needed sense of urgency to hurry up. I use to take my son to carolina shores. Since they closed we have been on the hunt for our new course and we found it! Love it at colonial charters and so will you!
Very nice condition and layout
Very enjoyable course. Not too difficult for my wife and me.
Cart paths are all torn up. No signage in the neighborhood about where the clubhouse is located.
Tour guide
The starter sent the group to ten due to the outing on the front nine. We were fortunate that one of the locals acted as our tour guide, it's a long trek through streets and path to get to ten, a long par three over water, playing whites.
The course was in decent shape, not the fastest greens, and the houses not really in play.
Spring break
A lot of water. Grass sparse in some places. Some holes are crazy far apart. I wouldn’t walk it. Interesting holes, fair, fun to play. All four of us agreed that the price was reasonable and we’d play it again.
Nice layout poor maintenance
The course layout is great. Unfortunately the tee boxes were very beat up as were certain areas of the fairway. With some attention this could be a great course.
Inexpensive local links
For the money, Colonial Charters was acceptable. Golf course was extremely wet & muddy despite minimal rainfall. Course needs attention.
Fun layout
Front nine sneaky tough and tight. Back nine driver friendly.
Enjoyed our round in under 4 hrs.
