Braes Golf
Course layout is quite poor in terms of navigating your way around. No one was available at all to get any info from. No shop open for refreshments /toilet etc. Although we had a number of days of continual dry weather, a lot of areas on the course were wet/boggy. Greens werent great, but I suppose you get what you pay for.
No bad wee course for a game in the winter
No matts , full greens
Bit wet as it’s winter
But not a bad designed course
Bunkers a bit solid too
Might play it again at its best
⭐️⭐️⭐️
First time playing
The staff I spoke to were extremely friendly and very helpful.
The fairways were really wet but that was due to the weather!
On the other hand the greens were in really good condition.
Couple of tee mats were damaged which were hard to play off of but the rest were in good condition.
Overall really good layout and will definitely visit during the summer.
Good for some practice
Played on a week day club house closed. Ne access to any amenities. When finished there was no where to clean your trolley or shoes.
Overall a good wee course but would be better if there were staff and amenities.
Great wee course and worth playing!
Cracking little 9 hole course, staff were super friendly about as friendly as any course I’ve been to. Don’t get me wrong greens aren’t 100% but for the price it’s got some fun little holes with a different choices of 2 boxes making the 2 9s different. Would definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a cheap hit!
Decent 9 holes
Enjoy playing this course...staff are excellent....only criticism would be could do with signs at every hole for next tee
Good time
After a sabbatical, played this with my brother. We both enjoyed our 18 holes (9holes twice, different tee boxes)
Everyone we spoke with were friendly.
The lady in the office was cheerful and helpful. I would highly recommend.
Tricky
Tricky little course, haven't played it in a couple of years, but massively improved condition since the last time I played it.
Its ok for a hit out
Greens were very bumpy and slow, Nice 9 hole walk and to be fair for a 9 hole course it is ok but it is no frills really and you may find better value with a good 18 hole course. Poor directions, Tee boxs not that well signposted. All in all, it is ok and plenty good if you are picking up the ropes.
Tough challenge for a beginner
Played first time on a Friday afternoon and it was quiet. Allowed this beginner to play a few mulligans! Off the yellow tees it felt like a reasonably long course, particularly for a beginner. I’m sure after playing a few times you would get used to it but having two sets of tees for each hole (1-9 and then 10-18) was a bit confusing and it wasn’t always the easiest to find the right tee, although when I was there, there was a super friendly green keeper who kept me right
Best way to spend a Monday evening!
Working away in Falkirk the sun is out so why not try this great little course. Good for all abilities and in good condition!
Played nine holes last month and with the lighter nights took advantage and played 18 this time and loved it.
Not the best
Course layout really isn’t the best, not that easy to navigate and can be confusing if you’ve never played there before with the 9/18 hole layout with different tee boxes. The fairways were in a pretty terrible state with drainage trenches everywhere and some of the greens weren’t great. The groundskeeper seems like he is doing his best to get the course into a good condition and it has improved since I played there last year. Could do with some signs directing you towards the right tee box for the next hole etc.
