Winchester Country Club

Winchester is a great layout and in the past I have thought it was a great course. This time the fairways were in rough shape, seemed to be over-watered, and several of the greens had bare spots and other problems. It currently is not worth the price. When it is in good shape it is worth every cent.

Love the layout of the course. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were in terrible shape. Fairways were very bare and very muddy. Won’t play this course again until it regains full green fairways. Pretty disappointed with the conditions for the green fees.

Terrible condition. Not worth the money. I feel bad for the members who pay monthly dues to play here.

Beautiful setting but course suffer from neglect and is in horrible condition. Tee boxes are all chopped up, fairways have more dead grass than green and overwatering has caused mud and swamp conditions… water hazards are swamps…. Sad, very sad to see what was a premier course degrade to this condition!.

I do not plan on going back nor buying property in this “country club”

This course was in excellent condition, with lots of interesting holes. I was fortunate to be paired with a member who really knew his way around the course. Our skill levels were similar, so his advice really helped me. The weather was perfect and the scenery is great.

This course is great! It has plenty of variation in hole design and really does sit in the landscape well. Lots of different shots you have to hit and the environment is beautiful. Carts are newer and have the updated cubbies/storage areas. I only have two small complaints: #1 The greens were a bit slower than expected and pockmarked. This seems to be a membership problem more than anything, clearly they don't fix their ball marks and it shows. #2 Course is oversaturated in some areas causing very soft playing conditions even on a hot day. Of course you can just take a free drop but I'd recommend the superintendent make changes to how they water unless it's a drainage issue. But overall this place is well worth the drive to play once! I really enjoyed it.

The area had gotten 1 1/2 inches of rain within 36 hours so it made it cartpath only making this course difficult because it’s very healthy. Lots of blind spots from the tea box. But the course wasn’t fantastic shape. The greens were running about a 10 on the stent meter which normally it would run faster according to the staff. The staff was absolutely wonderful in greeting us, and they knew exactly who we were when we got there for some reason. Yes, I will play there again if we come back to Northern California.

I think this course was previously private, and recently opened up for public play. Fairways were really in good condition and the greens were rolling excellently. It was a little slow on a Sunday afternoon, but I generally expect that in public courses. I felt like the tee boxes needed a little more care.

Played Winchester on Thursday. Teed off at 4:20 nobody in front of us nobody behind us. Pace was FAST. Course is in great shape, greens are pristine, staff is friendly and outgoing.

Course is great but greens are terrible dead and burnt spots everywhere pin locations would be un putt able on good greens so disappointed for 150$ a person wont be back don't waist ur money

Such a beautiful course. A gift to a golfer regardless of their skill. It’s tough at times and beautiful for 18 holes. So good!!
