About
Harbor Shores boasts a Jack Nicklaus Signature layout that plays through a stunning landscape of forest and wetlands. The golf course tumbles across hills and ravines blanketed with hardwood trees, providing a round that is as scenic as it is challenging. Thanks to the massive white sand dunes that edge along the water, the course has a truly links feel. When combined with the trees and natural water hazards provided by the landscape, the golf course becomes a truly formidable test. The seaside location also guarantees that some holes will be played into the prevailing wind. The trio of holes from the seventh through the ninth plays along the water and offer scenic views of Lake Michigan. There are 10 holes that border the Paw Paw River, Ox Creek, and their surrounding marshland.

Golfer Reviews
Great value because of golf now hot deal
Great course - imo not worth $275 but we got in for $125 and I’d play it more often if that was the case.
Love Michigan Golf
They promote water views. Truly there are no lake views from the course. I had hiked up some grass mounds just to see the water. It’s fine but don’t advertise beautiful lake views.
Real lake views are at Arcadia bluffs and Boyne/petosky courses.
Great Course
I try to play Harbor Shores at least once a season. Just like years past, this round did not disappoint. From bag drop to post round, the staff and course were first class. Driving range was well stocked good grass. The tee boxes were in great shape. Greens rolled consistent to putting greens. We had a 30 minute down pour and the course seemed to drain well. Only disappointment, I didn't make time to play the Wee Course.
Overpriced and tricked out but well manicured.
It's a $80 course disguised as a premium due to its designer. You can see the lake from two holes
If you look for it but they aren't on the lake. Designed with some trick holes that I think I is made for pros. Why drive 180 to have a 230 approach to a par 4v? Shoot a great drive from the white tees in the signature hole and you have 150 straight up hill to a micro green. Placement golf. Well taken care of but I can find many similar holes on logger cheaper public courses. Sorry. Never again. $200 for a course not as good as Harborside Carntigny or the front nine of Thunderhawk. Checked it off my bucket list but don't want to go back. Save your money. So many better breath taking courses for less money.
Great Course in West Michigan
We went in November on a cold cloudy day, and the course was in surprisingly great shape. The staff was very friendly and great to talk to. Every hole is excellently designed and very memorable. My only criticism is that the signage could be better to direct golfers from hole to hole to keep golfers from getting lost.
Great fall round
Amazing course, great conditions, great afternoon of golf. Staff are super attentive. It’s a little strange when all is shut down before players are off the course, but as a whole it is an amazing golf experience. Cost is high for late fall golf, but it was an awesome afternoon, and I’d pay it again.
Classic Golden Bear course
Harbor Shores is a must play if you are in the area. The price is a little steep but Golfnow makes it easy to find reasonable rates. Make sure to take in all of the views and enjoy the experience at Harbor Shores.
Ban the Eight-somes
Staff needs to control golfers.
5 hour round
Otherwise a delightful course
Some green complexes were a bit over the top.
Immaculate Conditions; Lackluster Course Design
First time playing Harbor Shores, and let me first start with the course is immaculate. One of the most well-keep courses I’ve ever played. Greens are truly insane (I’ve never in my life seen a green like #10!). Hole 7 is everything you read about…breathtaking view!
I was left wanting a lot more on the last few holes. 16-18 felt like a huge letdown of a finish after some really excellent holes 1-15. For the price, this is one that I’m glad I checked off the list, but will probably only play here again on a discounted rate.
Beautiful course great layout
Challenging course, interesting greens and good use of the environment.
Also it seems the course had a sense of humor I like that!
