The Chimneys Golf Course features 18 holes of exceptional golf. Our signature feature is the abundance of native rock found on-site, intricately hand-laid throughout the course to accent our greens, fairways, and pedestal tees. With strict attention to detail and no homes in sight, the course plays as a par 72, just shy of 6500 yards over five sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all abilities. Combined with southern, hometown charm, The Chimneys is an experience unlike any public course in north Georgia.

Saturday morning single
Was pretty worried that guys I was meant to be playing with cancelled on Saturday morning, shop said all other groups were foursomes so was expecting it to be brutally slow. Ended up 3 hours with a 2 ball in front who were quick, great day

Solid course
Course was in great shape. Would definitely play it again. Shout out to the superintendent for getting us out of the mess of waiting for the downed power line bc county crew would have taken forever.
Great course
Beautiful course. Not overly crowded and pace of play was very comfortable. Course layout is great, and course is very well maintained. Will be back
Changed for the good
Been awhile since I played there last They pulled an Eastlake and made the back 9 the front 9 and now 18 is a par 5 finishing hole. There’s no hope for a birdie on 18 but a few well placed shots might do it. New greens are nice, bigger and in god shape. Slightly more to play there but it’s worth the money. Staff is nice and they run a beverage cart every day. I think. Just snacks and drinks. They used to grill hotdogs and hamburgers but that was ages ago. Enjoyed the round.
One of my favorites
The staff here are really amazing and friendly!! Love the practice areas and the course is pure! Greens are amazing! Fun and challenging! Will definitely continue to play here!
Changed for the good
Played here about ten years ago. Greens have changed and are bigger. Still hard to hit! Moved the front nine to the back nine. Copied Eastlake. Kinda nice finishing on a par five but it should be easier. Plays like a par 6. Enjoyed the outing. Glad to see that they are putting money back into the course to improve things. They have snacks but need a chef for hot dogs or something
great day of golf
I thoroughly had a great day of golf. The staff placed me with a twosome. pace of play was easy with little waiting. the course was in great shape. I think I've found my new favorite course when I come to visit.
The chimneys wow!
Immaculate course conditions at the Chimneys. Well worth the drive from Atlanta, definitely cracking my top 5 course in GA. Only complaint was pace of play, we were waiting on the tee on most of the back 9.
I agree with everything this reviewer said. I just played there on June 4 and it was in great shape, good pace, and everyone that works there was friendly and helpful. Would absolutely play again if in this area again.
Best course
I love this course. The fairways are beautiful and the greens are absolutely wonderful.
Minor Upgrades
I have played this course for about 8yrs now. They are making great improvements over the past couple years. They put new greens in and landscaping around the entire course is always improving. They upgrade tee box 7 to give you a further back box. Tee box 18 is being rebuilt to make the hole a true par 5. All and all the course is looking amazing. The course is in way better shape during the warmer months.
Now for the minor changes under that would be nice for the golfers and those that respect the course. If Chimneys would place ball washers, either on the carts or at the tee boxes this would be nice. Also having a sand mixture on the carts for those that would fill the divots would be great. Personally I hate not being able to repair my divots. One other little upgrade for divot repair would be sandboxes on the par 3 holes.

A Hidden Gem in Winder
The Chimneys is a city owned course that offers golfers a quality experience. Checking in you are met by super staff that are upbeat and friendly. Nice pro shop and beverages are available. There is a starter on the first tee which keeps start times spaced and orderly. Pace of play was pretty good finishing in under 4 hours in a busy day. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition making the overall experience first rate. All at an affordable price!

I played this week and the course is in excellent condition. Only thing is the fees have now increased quite a bit (above inflation) for weekend play.
