Belfry Golf Club - The Derby Course

Great Value in terms of conditioning and price. Helps that I always have someone to play with as most tee times are full and as a single I get paired with someone. For my level of play course has some good challenges as well as scorable holes. Makes the golfing experience very enjoyable.

Great value. Very good fairways. Greens all very testing the only area for improvement are the bunkers in need of work but believe this is being addressed

Loved my first playing experience at The Belfry. Course in good condition, greens quite fast.

Course is always decent. Staff in shop though were poor. Maybe it was because we were playing the Derby and not paying the big bucks but werent very friendly or helpful and at a point were I wanted to purchase a new bag and hat, they ignored me at the till and three of them just chatted to eachother. So I put everything back and went about my day

Played PGA and Derby. Always find PGA a good fair test. The derby course is having tees extended and bunkers improved. The back 11 holes once you go over the road are decent. First few a bit meh apart from the short 3rd. With the improvements being made and the new spa and accommodation that have been built, a golf overnighter with the PGA and Derby course wouldn't be out of the question. Although you'll always look longingly at the Brabazon

Some of the best greens I've ever played on at this time of year.

Fairways were a bit 'woolley' but understandable as to why they have to be, given the weather for the last 3 months. Still perfectly playable and enjoyable.

All the staff were welcoming and friendly.

Great course to play despite the poor weather recently - greens quick for this time of the year and an absolute pleasure. A few boggy fairways but it's winter golf after all!

Make sure you get a sausage roll from the halfway house !

My local course closed due to weather, so looked on GolfNow for a round and the derby came up as an option. Played the brabazon last year and really enjoyed that in the summer. So had a look online to see if the derby was playable in the wet. Answers came back quite mixed with some saying superb and others saying hard work. We were only a 2 ball so thought ‘why not’. Turn up within an hour of the tee time and very straight forward to sign in and find the little shuttle to the first tee. Got to the first tee and considering the weather (rain the night before but cloudy during the day of play) they were in very good condition. Tee’d off and had a very enjoyable round. No issue with pace of play as we were only a 2 ball and the group infront were fairly fast paced and the group behind were occasionally in sight. Would reccomend to any of my golf mates to go. 10/10

Good for the money but they guy that drives you to the derby course has an attitude problem

Absolutely fantastic conditions for the time of year specially after the rain we’ve had greens were immaculate really enjoy our visit as a 3 ball will book again soon recommend to anyone who wants to try the DERBY course fantastic value

Stunning pro shop, good range facilities. Course in great condition for weather and time of year. No GUR marked but obvious it should’ve been in places. Bunkers were full of water. No mats or winter greens is a win for me anywhere in December! Excited to revisit in the summer.
