Will be back to play again
A quality course with exciting layout and challenging holes. No two holes felt the same. Quality greens and tee boxes.
A real hidden gem to play.
Pure Greens
Anyone in the area and have a chance to play Maxstoke Park, do it. The greens were the best I’ve played on this year (maybe ever). Tightly mown, quick without being ridiculous and so so true. Qudos to the green keepers. The course is flat, a few fiddly holes but a proper test of golf, with a naughty tight finishing hole tee shot. I can’t wait to head back there as playing it second time around is always a massive advantage. A must play.
Great value for money
A really enjoyable course, challenging layout, excellent greens, and great value for money.
Unorganised
Booking system said that it was fairly quiet so decided to give it a go. 3 groups waiting on the tee at my booked time, walked off after 3 holes taking 1 hour 20 minutes. Ended up with 6 groups waiting on the 3rd tee and I couldn’t take anymore. Needs a re think but definitely not for visitors. Members say it’s always like that.
Excellent visit to Maxstoke
I have just had a very enjoyable afternoon at Maxstoke, giving it a try for the first time.
The course is very well presented on arrival with welcoming and well stocked pro shop, and a range of practice facilities. There is an excellent patio looking out on the course to come.
The holes are clearly defined, with very well maintained tees, and generous fairways. The highlights are the excellent greens, extremely smooth and quite fast. There are also a few ponds and hazards to focus the mind.
There are 3 par threes and 2 par fives, and the par fours vary from 300 to 440 yards. The course finishes near the castle and Manor House, by the 17th green and 18th tee.
The course exceeded my expectations and I will definitely be back soon, and would recommend it to anyone for a great value golfing experience.
Immaculate
Fantastic course. Couldn't fault it. In superb condition
Love the course, but ......
Cracking, established and mature, tree-lined course. Really enjoyable layout. Friendly pro shop.
Greens unfortunately not very good due to essential maintenance having taken place which had settled down, but desperately requiring warmer temperatures and rain to promote growth.
Catering did not open until 11am and particularly poor food offering.
Very good
The course was in very good condition
Very little rough on the course but plenty of greenside bunkers and water
The round took 3 hours 40 minutes so a good pace
Great golf course and Club
Very welcoming from pro , shop and clubhouse
Great gilf course
A hidden gem
Played here for the first time and was blown away by the condition of the course. Greens were smooth, quick and pitch mark free, a really good challenge. Bunkers were well maintained with a good level of sand, although I only landed in two.
The course is set in beautiful grounds, with some challenging holes over water, and two par 5’s. I did play it mid-week during the middle of the day, so the pace of play was at my leisure. I could however expect this to be different at weekends, I’m sure it draws a lot of golfer’s attention.
If you are in the Midlands and looking for a great course to visit, I would highly recommend it.
Fantastic Parkland course
Really enjoyable 18 holes, excellent condition, greens superb. Freindly pro shop staff. Good for all standards of golfer.
Excellent greens
Friendly welcome from staff and members- course they n superb conditions & the best greens we’ve played on for a long time - would thoroughly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing
Greens are absolutely incredible and the course is genuinely very tidy. A good track and very challenging! 17 and 18 are certainly two very hard holes to finish on. Highly recommend.
Course was in very good condition even with the bad weather we have had, will definitely look at booking again.
