Birchwood Golf Club

Wow! Our 5th time playing birchwood. Some greens have been suffering a bit with the heatwave but recovering well now . Really friendly staff and amenities are brilliant. Putting green practice areas and lovely clubhouse. Interesting holes with hazards and water features. The 9th hole with large pond on left and bridge with elevated tee is brilliant. Well done birchwood greenkeepers and staff !

1st playing the course and the greens really were poor condition.the course layout is good and long but was very disappointing.bunkers were poor and not raked so had a few bad lies in them which is frustrating.

Course was very much like a public course

100% recommend, nice variety of holes and the conditions were immaculate.

Birchwood is a tight course not many driving holes (For me) which makes course management key

Birchwood is an excellent course and a real test for anyone. It’s a long course with plenty of different types of layout. Winter is hit and miss but that’s down to the local ground make up and not a lot can be done about that although they have done some work the last 2 years and it’s much better. Staff are great, Carl is very approachable and knowledgeable. Bar is great. Can be slow at busy times with societies but find a place that isn’t. Overall a fantastic course that will test even the best players

Staff were friendly, greens and fairways were in great condition. Club house was great to cool off. The rough was a little too harsh only because it was very easy to lose your ball even only a metre or two off the fairway. It was about 35C out there so would like to try the course again in cooler conditions but would definitely consider joining this club.

I am not one to complain but the course was in terrible condition very wet and muddy. The ball was plugged after every tee shot. The fairways were the same length as the rough. The greens were poor, the ball just bouncing along.

Very disappointing, don’t waste your money. The council courses are much better condition.

Nice course ,very boggy in places,some good holes. Not worth £40 considering how wet the course was,would be much better once the warmer weather arrives

The course although a little sodden in some place was in reasonable good condition greens had been airated so was bouncing always but love the out to in layout hole were really good sadly didn’t get to complete course 2 groups of 3 members were really slow and took me nearly 2 hours to do 6 holes….so decided to come back home which was much more enjoyable. Staff were great showed me were everything was and pointed out the dangers on the course.. Just the slow pace really spoilt it for me even if it was a gorgeous days.

Good all round golf club nice course week looked after and a great bar for a pint afterwards defgo recommend one off the best in warrington area
