Bally’s Golf Links at Ferry Point

Bally Point has been on the to play list for a long time. Course is in great condition, views are spectacular. It is really difficult...I usually shoot in the low 90s, shot 102 today. It's also expensive...$270 for green fees and a cart per person with no water on the course. Happy I played it but not sure I'll be back for a while.

If someone blindfolded you and transported you here, you might think you landed in Ireland. But a glance left would reveal a Pepsi-Cola plant and high-rise government apartment buildings. A look over your other shoulder will find the Whitestone Bridge. And if you turn completely around, the Manhattan skyline is magnificently unveiled in the distance.

Still, the elements are in place. Wind. Fescue. A myriad of bunkers waiting to swallow your golf ball.

It is hard to imagine that a piece of real estate this valuable still houses a golf course, but NYC golfers should be thankful.

The views are worthy of the hefty green fee alone. Yet, the course is no slouch. If you aren’t in full control of your golf ball, your quads and calves will suffer from traipsing through the long stuff all day.

The beautiful Greenwich golf course has a lot of good options.

For the amount they charge, I would expect traditional opulence and luxury. No water on the course. None. Had to buy bottles at the snack shop. Course is well maintained and views are nice but could not get over the lack of water. Charge $25 more and have the Trump water bottles every other hole.

Only experience players should play this course. Very difficult to find any balls in the high grass area. It all looks the same from the tee box...!

Fantastic course in perfect condition. Felt like the Ocean Course in Kiawah. The staff is very friendly and helpful, as you would expect at a Trump property. Definitely looking forward to the next round.

This is a very well maintained course that offers many challenges and rewards accuracy. Although I was able to find many balls in the fescue, there are ample opportunities to lose off-line balls. The consistent wind/breeze complicates matters (Even as it provides for more playable summer, city temps) and, if significant, can make play unenjoyable. It was a wee-designed and visually beautiful course. However, with the summer haze, city vistas were not as striking as one might expect from the location. Greens are large and undulating (typical of links style golf) but more of a style-hybrid being slower and slightly more “puttable”. At $117/round weekday on GolfNow it is worth a play, but I think any higher rate for this course is questionable. Great for a “special” round (Eg bachelor party) with a resort, well maintained, free driving range feel.

Had the opportunity to play Ferry Point since I still had a legacy Golf Now Hot Deal Credit. Beautifully maintained facility, cool views and extremely friendly staff. Fairways and greens were well maintained. Just keep the ball straight and you'll be fine here. If you are a NYC resident definitely take advantage of this course with cheaper rates. Definitely will come back for a twilight round.
