Been a Minute
The Greens are in perfect shape, could ask for better as they are receptive yet still faster the one would expect. The fairways are in good condition and the course looks good! Completely different than the last time I was there. Keep up the good work!
Better than the bad reviews
this was a great set up close to our venue at the Gaylord. I was concerned about the pace of play reviews but we played a 4 hr round at an 11:15 tee time on a Sunday. The greens are awesome, the layout great, fairways were good. Due to the ground geography, there is some discoloration along the fairways and tee boxes but the views were amazing and I would play here again. They host an annual qualifier here for the So Cal qualifier open so this course doesn’t suck. I assume yes it can get busy sometimes but we didnt have a problem. We could have paid more and head to steele canyon but didnt have the time.
Go anywhere else or stay at home
Even if every other golf course in SoCal is booked, DO NOT COME HERE. I've played every course in San Diego and I've never been treated WORSE than here. Bad experience start to finish. The starter did not believe we payed our fees, even though they don't give you a receipt and the proshop messed up our check in, essentially calling us liars.
The worst was the marshall Armando who AGGRESSIVELY YELLED at us when we were on the tee box. When we told him that he could be nicer, he doubled down and said we could keep pace, even though we waited for the group in front of us on every hole. When asked for his name, he said Armando and asked if we wanted his social security number too. Pathetic and rude. This was on 17, a par 3. Two holes left and you manage to make the experience even worse.
When we spoke to the manager afterwards, he excused Armandos behavior by saying he tends to "joke around". None of this was remotely close to being a joke. It turns out the marshal had already called in to the pro shop to say we were on our way, so the manager just said "I've already talked to him" without even listening to what we had to say. Completely disregarded and no apology from anyone.
I can stomach this if I'm playing at my (wonderful) muni, but to pay $400 for the foursome ($600 if you aren't already members) and be treated like that start to finish - you're better off doing ANYTHING else.
The driving range mats suck, you cant even put a tee in them. The course is in rough condition. Rocks in the bunkers. Rakes with no teeth. And the first cut is full of bumpy uneven dirt patches. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY OR TIME HERE
Never
Absolutely disgusting how slow the pace of play was. This course wants to charge $150 and it takes 3 hrs to play nine. Absolutely embarrassing. The course staff basically told me “it is what it is.”

Great course, friendly staff and no one in front or behind us……..Highly recommend
Beautiful Course
First time playing this course and it was absolutely beautiful. Golf carts are comfortable and always a bonus when you can connect your music. Fairways and greens were well kept. Absolutely would play here again.
Great course, no beverage cart on a Saturday.
Course is really well maintained and beautifully built. Water features are awesome! Only negative thing to report is that we never got a visit from the beverage cart, fortunately we were by the clubhouse at the turn and could grab drinks. Pretty weird for a Saturday morning and over $100 course fee but never a visit from the beverage cart. There was a cart out there just never came by our group or even the guys in front of us.
Not worth the Money
First would start as I ate at the clubhouse and ordered a French dip and onion rings. They put mushrooms on the French dip without asking me which I am allergic to mushrooms. now to the course. I was a single player paired up with other singles. pace of play was absolutely terrible it took 3 hours to get through front 9. At one point at hole 4 par 3 we had one group on the green and we had 3 groups waiting on the tee. I didn't even finish the whole course because it took too long on the front 9. I got the hot deal on Golf Now App at $94 which I still think was too expensive for this course. This course at most is worth $75.
