Excellent small course
This place is an extremely unique par “3” (first and last holes are par 4, can use driver or woods). Lots of fun holes with unexpected elevation changes, holes 3 and 9 are particular favorites. The cafe/restaurant is extremely good, serving both classic american comfort food and korean comfort food, tvs playing sports, awesome place to get a post-round recovery beer. Worth going to on its own, even if not golfing.
Driving range has autotees and two decks, pro shop has good selection, the short game and putting areas could be a bit bigger, or perhaps even just convert the chipping green to a putting green, though it seems rarely open. Still, everything here is absolutely worth your time and money. Can get a bit clogged on the course at peak weekend hours, but nothing too crazy or unreasonable. For me, this is a perfect nine holes, and seeing the resident cats always makes me happy.
Great to start playing golf
I love this golf course it was my first time playing golf here so can’t complain
Great short course
This course is easy to play if you’re only interested in short Par 3s. My 14 year old son played with me and he enjoyed it. Would recommend if you only want to play for 2 hours or shorter.
Muddy Course
I started playing/practicing on this course when I was new, but I don't see any improvements being done to it. The tee boxes are still using mat and its muddy. The time we went 9:30 am there was no score cards available
I will probably use this course again as a last resort but it wouldn't be my first choice.
Best Par 3 in the 626
Been coming here since a kid, courses greens were pretty solid. And their yukgaejang is good!
Great course
Everything was good. Greens were good. And maintain. was good. Don. The bad thing that there no water at the cooler stations brought it up to front desk, but they still didn’t have water after I played other 9 holes
Best 9 Hole on the East Side
Love playing at Monterey. Challenging 9 hole course with a great driving range. They upkeep this course really well. Staff is really nice. The one draw back is pace of play on the weekends. Players can take there time on this one, definitely plan for a slightly longer game. Weekdays totally fine
I like the course BUT.
I like the course and it’s well maintained but tee boxes need some TLC and they need to find a way to have the pace of play moving.
Value
Great course for the price.
Start on mat every hole
Great course. Love the greens and how tricky they are. Overall great course, especially for the price
Rude Marshall
This is just my opinion, but marshall asked what our name was, and when he found out we were Japanese, not Korean he started giving us a hard time, telling us we did not have enough sets of clubs, that we were holding up play because of it, etc. We are all experienced golfers and were playing a scramble, best ball, so there is no way we were holding up play. And as far as having enough bags or clubs, we had a set for each player, and the group in front of us and behind us had only one set and he didn't hassle them. We had to wait to hit many times, so there was no way we were holding people up. The marshall was rude, and even if he owns the place, he should be nicer. Everyone was wondering why he had to be so mean!
Rude Marshall!
Marshall asked us what our name was and after finding out we were Japanese I believe, he was quite rude and kept arguing with us about not having enough bags and that we needed to have 4 bags. We explained that we had transferred 4 sets of clubs into two carts so that we didnt have to carry 4 bags, but he kept arguing, saying we were slowing up play. We explained we were playing best ball, scramble, and that we were in no way holding up play. He just ruined our day with his condescending attitude. We will never go back. Bad experience!
