This place is in excellent condition
Even after heavy rain the course drains fast and remained in excellent condition. The greens are perfect. Shout out to the maintenance team as they do an amazing job!
Good round
Did not score well but course in good shape. Greens slow, fairways in good shape. Pace of play this trip was the best I have had in along time. Which was nice
Would play again
First time playing course. Excellent driving range and putting/chipping area. Course itself is VERY undulating - even in the fairways. Almost every par 4 and 5 has a left or right slant and most lies will be either above or below your feet. Water comes into play on 4 or 5 holes and you’ll need to be able to hit your distance for proper layups. Overall, I found it to be challenging but fair. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely play again.
Favorite public track in Atlanta without question. I've seen better conditions here but it's been incredibly dry this spring and it has held up better than most public courses. Dry conditions made it more challenging, but still more than fair. Fairly getable par 5s that still require you to hit the shot it asks for. Par 3s and 4s that require every club in the bag. Proper and fair test for sure. I need to make an effort to get out here more.
Great Value and possibly the hardest 18th hole in Georgia
West Pines might be the best value in the metro Area. They invested in the green complexes and the rest of the course is in excellent condition. It has a few quirky holes, but once you play a few times you get the hang of it. The 18th may be the hardest finishing hole in public golf. A slightly uphill par 3. From the blues, it can play over 200 yards. From the tips, even longer. Highly recommended.
Really Enjoyed it!
You can tell they work to keep the course nice. My First time playing West Pines and I will be back. A good blend of wide open fairways and well placed hazards. I’m recently returned to golf from a 25+ year hiatus and I’ve got a lot of work to do but this was a great course to get a little of everything.
Nice course with an odd layout
This was a nice course but it does have an odd layout where the turn from 9 to 10 is not at the clubhouse, the course just continues.
The back nine is also oddly laid out where it starts (10th) and ends (18th) with a par 3.
The course was in very good condition but the odd layout for the back nine stops it from being rated 5 stars, despite that, it is still a nice course to play.
