Great course, pure greens, scenic views

Starboard course was in great shape, greens rolling pure. Challenging greens with shorter yardage make it fun. Cart paths are horrendous, need to update and fix badly.

Cart Path

The cart paths need MAJOR work! If the cart pats are not fixed then everyone will drive on the grass instead of the cart paths.

Harborside might be my new favorite course.

I’ve played 3 times, twice the port course and most recently the starboard. This course feels incredibly vast and unique, with no close outside noise. It’s a great place to hone in and focus on some good golf. Not overly difficult, but unique and challenging. The only downside is the cart paths are really rough. Everything else A+

Great track

Love this course. Excellent practice areas and excellent greens and fairways. The cart path is not very good but I dont play on the cart paths. Love the port track for the challenge and the starboard is just as good as little easier in my opinion. Use hotdeals in golf now to get a discount. Friendly staff. Must try practice greens and chipping. Best of luck! enjoy..

So close to being a great facility

I love playing here, there are challenges and there are opportunities for birdies. The layout is awesome. Spend a few dollars to fix the bad pot holes on the cart paths, some are back breaking bad. But what they need to do is remind players, repeatedly, to fix their ball marks and replace/sand their divots.

Could be so good

I play this course a lot and I hear all the complaints and they are valid. Cart paths - they should just tear them up as they are landmines on the cart - but who cares just drive around them. The course was getting burned out in spots so they need to water, but greens were rolling great. I love harborside as it's always in decent shape, tough course, no houses so it's visually appealing and with wind it's so hard. No rangers so pace of play can get real bad if you get a bad couple of groups and the drink cart doesn't come around enough, but otherwise it's a great course if you can get any type of deal,

Absolute disrepair

I just played Harbourside this week, for the first time. You couldn’t drive 10 feet without seeing another pothole on the paths. The rough hadn’t been cut in days, it was minimum 4 inches thick, and we didn’t see a cart girl for 18 holes. Will mever go back, would not recommend

Labor Day golf

It is a good course that have been deteriorating year over year. They need to invest in the path which are awful and some of the fairways are getting yellow on some parts and dry.

It could be the most beautiful course in the city without competition.

Great course. Rough condition

This is such a special golf track. It had been ten years since I’d played Harborside. I was shocked to see the conditions of both the cart paths and the fairways. The cart paths were pot marked through all 18 holes of Starboard. Literally undrivable on many holes. And the fairways had so many dead areas. It was frustrating to see such a beautiful course in such a state of disrepair.

Not worth it anymore

There’s been a lot rain recently, but between the pothole ridden cart paths, washed out unkempt bunkers, crabgrass, no drink cart, etc, Harborside has lost some of it’s luster and the fee is starting to feel steep for the experience.

Lost its way

It’s been several years since I’ve played here. Surprised it’s run by Kemper Sports as they usually do a good job. Potholes galore on the cart paths, slow pace of play, divots everywhere (including the greens). Not sure what happened but it’s sad to see this once great course so disheveled.

Not worth it

Course plays 1,000 outings and it’s apparent. Tee boxes like rough. Divots all over the fairway. Course maintenance getting ready for the next outing regardless of golfers on holes. Cart paths haven’t been paved since the 70’s. Expect a lot more for the amount you pay in green fees.

Continues to be the biggest rip off in Chicagoland golf!

Harborside is close to the city; but that is the only positive thing about this place.

Cart paths are so horrible, and getting worse.

Tee boxes and fairways were either burnt out or soaking wet.

Huge areas of dead spots within the fairways, more so on the front 9.

90 degree day; no water available on the course at all.

Even the brats in the halfway house were almost cold, which isn't a big deal, but indicative of how they care about this place.

They know they are always going to be busy, so they do not have to fix anything.

Spend your money somewhere else, I promise it is not worth the money you pay for it.
