About
Although it is tucked away just north of Hampstead, Castle Bay Country Club will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The golf course offers an authentic Scottish-links design that incorporates the natural wetlands of its coastal Carolina location, giving it a truly unique character. The landscape of rolling dunes is covered with native grasses but completely devoid of trees. Tall sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there are also expansive waste areas, both characteristics that are true to its links nature. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. Accurate shot placement is the key to doing well on this course and just like any seaside links layout, the coastal breezes play a prominent role. Much of the difficulty of the golf course comes from negotiating with the prevailing winds.

Tee boxes are getting a little ragged. Try moving the markers once in a while.
Good links course
Keep it on the short grass and you can have a good round. Fairways and greens are in great shape, sand traps are shallow so pretty easy to get out for the average golfer. A few of the tee boxes need a rest from the busy summer.
Good layout
Good course for advanced to intermediate players. I'm a 2.1 handicap and this course provides an opportunity to hit alot of different shots. Greens roll true and can be tricky on speed throughout the round. I definitely recommend this course!
Great course, would definitely play again
We were the first group off, so I can't judge pace of play since we played in just over 3 hours as a twosome in the same cart.
The course was in great shape and greens were rolling quick and true.
Didn't visit inside the clubhouse so I can't comment on that aspect.
I booked using GolfNow and had a "Hot Deal" which is why I had such a low rate. But I think they're regular rates are quite reasonable.
Would definitely play again if I am in the area.
Fun layout and plays like a links course when the wind is blowing
Greens rolled very true. Fairways we're soft so no roll but really enjoyed. Staff was great/pleasant//helpful!
