About
Although it is tucked away just north of Hampstead, Castle Bay Country Club will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The golf course offers an authentic Scottish-links design that incorporates the natural wetlands of its coastal Carolina location, giving it a truly unique character. The landscape of rolling dunes is covered with native grasses but completely devoid of trees. Tall sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there are also expansive waste areas, both characteristics that are true to its links nature. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. Accurate shot placement is the key to doing well on this course and just like any seaside links layout, the coastal breezes play a prominent role. Much of the difficulty of the golf course comes from negotiating with the prevailing winds.

Conditions
Terrible conditions. No idea what they are doing to the fairways that were completely destroyed with tire tracks and mud .
Played here in June and it was in great shape so really stunned how bad a shape this course was in today. P
New favorite course
Liked everything about it. A little wet due to rain the night before. Greens are in great shape as well.
Great Course
I've played the course two times this week and enjoyed both rounds.
Layout is fun. Fairways are very good, greens could roll better and some bunkers are not well maintained.
Would play again.

Great course, fast greens, wide open course other than the links off the fairway.
Ranger checking on things thru out play. Only downfall was we never seen a cart girl , could have definitely used some cold beverages

Great Links Course In Wilmington
My friend and I had a blast playing this course. The course was in really good condition with the perfect amount of wind to make a links course interesting. Highly recommend this course in the Wilmington area. The golf carts have go’s which makes club selection easy.
Nice Course !
I was visiting my sister in Hampstead, NC in late June and wanted to play a course close by. I booked an early morning tee time at Castle Bay and was not disappointed. Except for a few shaggy tee boxes, the course was in great shape. Staff was very friendly and pace of play was very good. It's challenging but very fair. This course is worth a play if you are in the Hampstead/ Top Sail Beach area.
Good course. Well maintained. Friendly staff. I will book again soon.

Wilmington Golf
The course was in great shape, pace of play was very slow. I would definitely play here again because of the challenge of the lynx style course.
