Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden
About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

Great Value
Nice layout, driving range could use improvement, overall great price for product. Would love to see water jugs/ball wash stations placed throughout course. This course is really on the “upswing” with regards to course conditions.
A quick round of golf.
I booked a last minute late morning round of golf at Iron Clad. I was a tad late for my tee time but Nancy was nice enough to get me out on the course quickly enough. Playing as a single I was enjoying the beautiful hot day AND the pace of play. I was invited to play through by a few sets of golfers and was able to complete my round in 2-1/2 hours!
They are working to improve the course conditions especially the greens which were in rough condition earlier this year.
I enjoy the layout and the laid back atmosphere of the place. Very reasonable for a fun time.
Great Course for value and Wilmington Community
I played this course yesterday and had a fantastic time. The staff was super friendly and got us out before our tee time. The fairways were in great condition with challenging but playable pin locations on the green. The greens were in great condition as well as almost every tee box. Some of the tee box’s were in fun locations with water obstacles. Initially I was only going to play the front 9 but after I finished I payed to play the back and it was well worth it. I’m a 17 handicap and this course was challenging enough for me to work on my game but also playable enough for me to feel confident with my swing and on the course. I would recommend to anyone who likes a friendly pro shop staff and a course with scenic views and golf that challenges their game while also making them feel confident.
Laid back....
Loved this course, laid back chill vibe. This course is perfect for the mid to high handicapper. Not super long with wide fairways. Greens are on the slow side which favors your average golfers. If you are a scratch golfer that prefers the country club vibe this course is probably not for you. But if you prefer a cold beer and a chilled vibe this course is for you. I see tons of potential as current management is bringing this course back to life. I will definitely return soon....
Course is great value for the cost
I had a great time at the course, the price is very reasonable and for 30 bucks I was able to get in a good amount of practice with my buddies. For those who are into casual golf and don't need a top of the line course (that also takes hundreds of dollars to play on), I recommend this place.
bad shape,
poor shape, skipped several holes be cause it was so backed up on some holes, asked for a rain check for that reason and was told no
