Lightning fast greens
The only down side to this place is there's no driving range. Other than that this course is great. The front nine is pretty open. The back nine is like a true mountain course. Lots of elevation changes, lots of blind shots. The fairways had good amount of grass on them. Due to the rains of the day before I assumed the greens would have been slower than average but was almost over the top fast. For the money it's a great course and will be back to play soon.
Blind shots lead to slow play
Not an easy course to play for the first time. A lot of blind shots where what you would think would be a good shot would get you in trouble. The terrain takes fairway shots into the rough and in some cases, starting off the first hole, across the street into a yard full of neighbors. This course has a 4-star rating on GolfNow so we were let down. Aside from this, nearly every other hole was blind to the group in front from the blue tees with only one clearance bell on the course which resulted in a lot of driving back and forth from the tee to fairway to see when the group in front cleared, this led to an extra long round. Greens were in good shape but fairways were dried out and rocky.
Greens were great
The greens were in great shape HOWEVER the rest of the course fairways to be exact were full of crabgrass no grass and was hard as concrete. Shots from the fairways were tough due to the hardness of the ground. You had to pick it clean for a chance. Around the greens should have thick rough as the greens were so fast w false fronts the ball would hit and roll 20 yards off the green. Love playing golf but won’t be going back here unless the heads groundskeeper gets the course in shape.
Amazing Greens
The Course looks amazing and it doesn’t look like a course usually does in the Winter. The greens were amazing and played great. KMCC is always clean and the tee boxes are well maintained. The course is laid out well and the cart paths are some of the best in the area. The staff is always nice and accommodating. The Pro Shop is well stocked with all the latest golf accessories. We always enjoy after a round and hanging at the pub for a few cold ones and amazing food.
No need to come back
Grumpy staff, confusing layout despite a few decent holes. Terrible pace of play. Overall poor condition. First and only visit...
Easy course to play.
This would be a fun course to have outings. They really need to either install or use the a sprinkler system. I did have fun playing it. Nothing else there to do but golf.
Golf
For the money it’s a good course. Nothing fancy. Pace of play was good and that’s my biggest issue. No signs at the turn for which way to go. The course layout was confusing at times. It’s not a flat course with lots of blind shots.
Worth playing
Good course layout with awesome greens. Just don’t go on a Tuesday.....Senior Slow Day. In the courses defense, they let me play a few holes on the back 9 before things really slowed down on the front side. People are friendly that work there and the greens were very nice!!
Fun course
Course was drying out needed water. Very fun and interesting course. Would like to play it again. Several blind shots that prior knowledge would have helped shot placements.
Fun course.
Very fun course. Unique holes designs. Course conditions were very dry. With more watering of course will be a very recommendable course. I did have fun playing it.
Good value for the money - just a bad setup
Nice course....friendly staff.....the holes had a good variety and was actually pretty fun but....my goodness.....the layout is horrible. I think on 14-15 of the holes, you're in danger of getting labeled by another player on a different hole. Tee boxes about 5 yards from a green; just an odd setup. We had to ask two separate groups of people how to get to the 10th hole and then to the 18th hole.
Again - the course is nice; good views, good track - and I understand they are probably limited in how they can lay out the course - but it was an awful setup.
Some good....
First the staff is all very friendly. I think the layout is interesting. Front 9 pretty plain. Straight back and forth holes. Couple doglegs and really small greens. Back 9 more like a mountain course. Up and down. Doglegs galore. Lots of blind shots. Much larger greens. Some local knowledge is needed on many of these holes. The fairways and tees were generally in good shape. Cut nicely and looked great. The rough is well rough. A lot of spots you are on dirt or rocks. The greens had just been verticut and sanded. So they were neither smooth or fast. Although this is pretty routine maintenance. All in all it’s a neat little course that’s worth a play.
Quality consistent with an average municipal
The course layout was fun. Good mixture of challenging holes on course. Fairways and greens were for the most part in good condition. Only a few bare spots. The rough was basically dirt and rocks which is very annoying especially around the green. Bunkers were hit and miss. Some had no sand and some had grass growing in them and a few others were nicer. Facilities are basic. No driving range. Golf carts were in good shape and staff were friendly.
