Fun Course, unique hole designs.
Played for the first time on 08/25/22. I am excited to see the conditions in the future as this was a really fun course to play, it just happened to be really wet the morning we began our round. Many straight long par 4’s and bunkers are avoidable for the average player. Get a cart, there are some long gaps between holes and walkers will hold up the pace of play, don’t be that guy. Favorites here are the hard dog leg holes, and a 3/4 island green hole. One hole even mimicked the 17th at St. Andrews with a shot that had to be played over a building to attempt to reach the green in two. Challenging 18th hole will test your strength and your ego. Would love to play again soon.
Good Course for Price
The course was in good condition, however the greens could use some TLC. It seems like the course doesn’t drain well which caused the greens to be extremely soft and your ball would sink in. It has some very unique holes to say the least.
Enjoyable
I like this course. Its fun to play, for the most part a good walking course and an interesting layout. Also, every time I have been, its been in great condition. Having said that, I have a couple of niggles.
First and foremost, that 18th hole is a design disaster. Any hole that needs to have a local rule allowing you to tee up your second shot it order to make it playable for the average golfer, has got some serious problems. In this case, its a very long carry over a water hazard thats just impossible unless you are a true bomber. I don’t think theres an easy fix for that. Be prepared.
My other issue seems to have an easy fix. There are several par 4 and 5 holes where you are never allowed to drive the cart in for absolutely no apparent reason. The fairways are as dry and firm as all the others. This slows down play. Why?? I can understand protecting holes that tend to hold moisture but there is no evidence of that.
But again, even with these issues, this is a fun course thst I can highly recommend.
Challenging but fun golf course
I’ve played here several times over the years. The staff is always friendly and the price is always reasonable for the quality of golf played here.
Sandy Greens
They had just top dressed the greens. While they were rolling true , it was like putting on the beach. I'm sure this will wash away in a week or so and they greens should be fine
Challenging but very fun course to play
I highly recommend this course. Staff is very friendly and the course is in great condition. This was my first time playing this course, but it will not be the last. You cannot beat the price. Some holes present a challenge and I had to rethink which club to use several times. That is what made it fun. I look forward to playing this course again real soon
Unprofessional Staff
Paid for 18 holes. Showed up a little late. Lady in the pro shop said I wouldn’t be able to finished the whole 18 holes. Made me start with a random group on #3. When I had reserved a tee time for just myself.
Kept talking about the dog fight going off at 12 when I showed up at 8:15. No players were playing around 9-9:15. She easily could have squeezed me in by myself around 9 but she rushed me and didn’t even let me finish after I paid for the full 18 holes. Terrible, absolutely horrible first experience here.
